Joe Mangel rules out return

We can all relax. Neighbours will remain a Joe-Mangel free zone.

And to think we were really worried it might happen too….

Mark Little has confirmed that he has no plans to return to a stint as Joe Mangel in Neighbours.

Little played the role from 1988 until 1991 and reprised it in 2005 for the show’s 20th anniversary.

“I think I’ve done my bit in Neighbours,” Little is quoted by The Press Association as saying. “Joe Mangel is just a fond memory, and he certainly is that for a lot of people who still remember Joe. I was only three years in that soap, it’s long ago, so I did something right or something wrong, I don’t know.”

Little recently filmed a guest appearance in ITV1’s Emmerdale, but missed out on a reunion with his former co-star Anne Charleston (‘Madge Bishop’) who plays Yorkshire Dales resident Lily Butterfield.

“The three days that I worked on Emmerdale, Anne Charleston had two weeks off. So I missed seeing Anne, which is just the way it goes,” he explained. “She was most upset. It would have been great to do some stuff with her.

Now we can all get some sleep.

  1. as far as highly addictive utterly trashy soaps go, i can recommend Emmedale, its on UKTV here, its much, much lighter than the other UK soaps..definately worth checking out, im hooked..Emily Symons (Marilyn from Home and Away) is a regular in it as well.
