Some shows like Moonlight looked set to be renewed and got extra eps after the strike, but in the end got axed. Back to You was also axed after eps for a second season had already started to be filmed. Both seem to have also ironically been mistakes, seeing as The Ex List retained just 60% of its Ghost Whisperer lead-in, only got 5.7 mill in just its second ep, and Moonlight was averaging around 7 million last season. And Back to You was replaced with Do Not Disturb, and that was axed after only a handful of episodes. I reckon The Mentalist will definitely see a second season, although Knight Rider is questionable. It'll probably end up going for at least another season as its rating higher than some of NBC's other shows ATM I agree with the point that extra eps does not necessarily mean renewal. Both Surface and Invasion got full seasons and they were cancelled in the end. I have no idea what Knight Rider is going to be like. I taped the movie when it was on but haven't watched it yet. Seeing as there's no sign of it appearing on 7 yet, it seems that they're skeptical. Still, good to see them getting this far. I quite like what I've seen of The Mentalist.
