Rice says no dice to Dancing

Well this is gonna make life interesting. Following Grant Hackett’s lead, now Stephanie Rice reckons she isn’t going to appear on Dancing with the Stars.

Or warbling on It Takes Two either.

“Definitely not,” she told news.com.au.

“I am just not into that kind of scene. A lot of people have said I am apparently doing Dancing With The Stars but I am like ‘no way’.

But, I like the fact I am not just a swimmer and not just known for my swimming.

“I love what I am doing in (TV). I love swimming and I have other opportunities opening up to me post swimming career.

So far for her reported six-figure sum Rice has appeared fleetingly in Make Me a Supermodel, a few interviews for Seven’s news brands and an appearance tomorrow on Better Homes and Gardens.

yes just what we need a female version of Ian Thorpe!

TV is more important to them than swimming!

i’m surprised they gave her a choice not to, if i payed someone (rumoured) $700,000 i’d expect a bit more than appearances here and there filling in extra seconds.

although it will be funny watching her dance now if something happens and she ends up on the show

How long will she last after making that comment… give her three months.

“But, I like the fact I am not just a swimmer and not just known for my swimming.” Ummm…… you are just know for your swimming and you are just a swimmer. I don’t think you should let you ego get too far ahead of yourself just yet Stephanie…..

lets hope for her sake that her contract with 7 doesnt obligate her to do whatever the hell they tell her to..including Dancing

Well she’s got more class then I gave her credit for good on her. Looks like Grant has started a rather worrying trend for Seven!

Why is it that networks offer swimmers/models/whatever jobs just because they’re famous?

“I love what I am doing in (TV).”

Wow, I sure would love it too if I was earning $800k for doing two short segments of TV so far!

    @Glenn Petrie

what other reason would they hire people? no matter how much talent someone has it won’t mean anything if they don’t have fame to back it up.

I have lots of friends that have personalities that are tv worthy but with no fame it dosn’t mean anything

Got something to say?
