Seven will screen the Australian Masters golf tournament from November 27 and the Australian Open from December 11th.

Sandy Roberts will head the network’s commentary team, which recently came under fire for cutting loose Jack Newton.

Golf is set to tee off on Seven with the Australian Masters at Melbourne’s Huntingdale Golf Club
this month, followed by the Australian Open at Royal Sydney Golf Club in December.

2008 Australian Masters, November 27-30

This year marks the 30th anniversary of the Australian Masters with a strong field including Stuart
Appleby, former champions Robert Allenby, Craig Parry and 2005 US Open winner Michael Campbell, along with Nick O’Hern, John Senden and Rod Pampling. The internationals will include two-time representative on the International Team at The Presidents Cup and world number 37, South African Tim Clark; last year’s runner-up and winner of the 2008 Mercedes Championship, Sweden’s Daniel Chopra and 2008 US Amateur Champion Danny Lee. In August, Lee became the youngest ever winner of the US Amateur, breaking Tiger Woods’ record by six months.

Seven’s coverage will be hosted by SANDY ROBERTS with expert commentary from WAYNE GRADY, LYNDSAY STEPHEN, OSSIE MOORE and PAT WELSH.

Australia’s best golfers and some top international challengers are set to compete for the coveted
Stonehaven Cup. 2006 US Open champion and 2008 World Golf Championship winner Geoff Ogilvy will be joined this year by world number 17 Adam Scott as well as former champions Robert Allenby, Stuart Appleby, Peter Lonard and defending champion Craig Parry. The international field will include five-time European Ryder Cup team member Darren Clarke and 2005 US Open champion and World Match play champion Michael Campbell.

  1. I think so, the fact they didn’t renew Jack Newton’s contract and there have been many reports that Seven will be ending so you would think so.

    Expect all the big three to be either on TEN or ONE next year.

  2. It’s going to be weird without Jack Newton there.

    Looking forward to it, espically the masters weekend where TEN HD also has a golf tournament on, golf on two FTA channels, never thought i would see that.
