Drug charges dropped against McKenney

NSW Police say a successful conviction against Todd McKenney is remote and drop a drugs charge.

A drugs charge against Dancing With The Stars judge Todd McKenney has been dropped, NSW police said today.

Mr McKenney had previously indicated he would plead not guilty to one count of possessing the illicit drug GHB.

The charge was laid after he was found unconscious in Rushcutters Bay Park, in Sydney’s east, on the afternoon of April 25, allegedly with a vial of GHB in his pocket.

He has publicly stated that his drink was spiked at a party the night before and the drug planted on him.

A NSW police spokeswoman today said the charge had been dropped.

“Following the receipt of legal advice, police have determined the prospect of a conviction is remote and proceedings will not continue,” the spokeswoman told AAP.

“Police have withdrawn the charges.”

  1. @ John – please explain why having drugs which could well have been for his own use makes him a “slime ball”. People do take GHB recreationally you know.

  2. This man makes my skin crawl.

Someone must have screwed up because there’s no doubt in my mind he is 100% guilty and deserves to be locked up.

    Slime ball.

  3. after all that hoopla they drop the charge what a complete waste of time. The police could have delt with it on the spot that night but nooooo lets charge him. No wonder people get the coogie bay ice creams with the police and the media! it was such a circus over nothing in the end.
