Fasten your seatbelts, it’s Pam Ann.

Zany air hostess comedienne ‘Pam Ann’ will feature in a new series for Foxtel, expected to appear on the Arena Channel next year.

Played by Australian Caroline Reid, she’s been a regular on the UK cabaret circuit with her mad-cap mix of camp and glamour. ‘Pam Ann’ has performed at private parties for various celebs including Cher and Elton John.

Meanwhile, Foxtel picked up a number of new shows at MIPCOM including America’s Toughest Jobs, the talent show format, The Ultimate School Musical and a new weekly game show franchise described as “The Bourne Identity meets 24“, The Phone.

I see shows like this and I truly wonder who the hell would pay to watch it?

In fact the latest round of ads for Foxtel on the radio mention shows that sound so excreble that I’d be amazed if it didn’t cause current subscribers to cancel..

I’d pay to watch Caroline Reid. Truly a class act.

Another reason why pay tv is worth the money.

I’ve yet to see any reason why Pay TV is worth the money.

Repetitive, overcompressed, ad infested and old content.

But apparently worth it for some obscure comedy show.

I would get rid of pay tv if it wasn’t for “Outrageous Fortune”, “The Soup” & “Chelsea Lately” lol

I saw Pam Ann a few years ago - she was hilarious. Hmm - pay tv has some great shows - like Top Chef, Project Runway, Top Design, Shear Genius and even the Rachel Zoe Project. Ok the latter is crap but good bad.

Outrageous Fortune is on Nine (first season) and will be on Ten during summer (3rd season unless they repeat the second season). Gotta love Munta!

I sat through her promo reel on youtube… err… at times she was brilliant but there was a lot of poor drama student comedian who thinks the louder they are they improve their odds of getting a laugh.

I did however enjoy the line, “I am fingering the flight attendant but she is not coming.” That was quite clever.

Got something to say?
