Nathan, the last to exit Hi-5.

Nathan Foley will step down from Hi-5 this Christmas, the last original member to leave the troupe.

Barely a blink after Kellie Crawford announced she is to leave Hi-5, now Nathan Foley, the only other original member is also hanging up his colourful outfit.

Both Foley and Crawford will perform with Hi-5 for the last time at Carols by Candlelight on December 24th.

“I’ll always love Hi-5 and I’m very proud to be one of the original cast members,” said Nathan, “but after 10 years in the group it’s time for me to move on and explore other opportunities. One of the best things about being a part of Hi-5 is entertaining all the kids and parents. It’s very important to me to be able to say goodbye to all the fans, so it’s nice to announce I’m leaving while we’re on tour.”

It’s a credit to the longevity of the children’s brand that we actually see such performers announcing their retirement. Normally in this genre, the end of their run is decided by a programming executive.

Nine is inviting potential replacements for the Hi-5 roles. Applicants can email their contact details and CV’s to [email protected]

  1. The three (so far) new Hi-5 cast members are really lovely with kids and super-talented. Let’s hope the ones they now pick for Kellie and Nathan’s spots are just as genuine and talented.
