Returning: 90210

As has been widely anticipated, 90210 is returning to Channel TEN from 7:30pm Monday November 24th.

In a promotion from 8:30 to 7:30pm, the show makes it back into the final week of ratings.

TEN took the series off air after low figures, much to the disappointment of new fans. It wasn’t helped in some markets being interrupted by the Brownlow Medal either.

In the US the show has a full season from the CW Network.

TEN picks up the season with episode 6, “Model Behaviour” and follows with the last episode of Good News Week for 2008.

  1. Alison Whalan says:

Make up your minds 10. I cant keep up with it when its on . Bring on all the old stars then you will get the ratings.

  2. Sephiroth_FF says:

I wonder how long they keep it on this time? If they keep pulling everything then they’ll have nothing to show.

  3. Nuts for 90210 says:

    Good Riddens to Australian Idol!!!!!!

    Welcome Back 90210!!!!!!!!!!

    Whooohooooo!!!!!!

  4. Christina says:

What are you guys talking about?! The original 90210 was on at 7.30 and had way more “adult” topics! However don’t care what time its on as long as its back on!

Yay for channel 10 I say – its about time they give it a chance… when it was on earlier in the year, they changed times, took it off for Brownlow, changed days etc so often it confused people!

I hope those people who downloaded it still watch it to ensure that it says on the air all the time!

  5. Tepee says:

Well said, DanR. Ever since Desperate Housewives I haven’t had my weekly fill of silly dramedy. 90210 will more than suffice!

  6. Kelly Booth says:

OMG! That is great news…altho my guess is it will move after a couple of weeks in that slot…when do chanel 10 ever stick to a plan!!!???

  7. Tash says:

Shut Up! No way! Thank fully, ive seen the next few eps, so i wont have to watch while on exams. But thank you Channel 10. They are finally doing something right :D

  8. Trevor says:

top gear s11 starts same day so I won’t watch it

  9. Arlen says:

I’ve downloaded and watched all the episodes that have aired in the US since it’s axing here and it is a really good show.
I don’t see any reason for it to be edited either. There’s nothing risque in content at all :)

  10. David Knox says:

Marco… Ugly Betty did the same thing in episode one in a 7:30pm Sunday slot.

  11. Nick says:

It actually might do pretty good, if people don’t want to watch the rich list and are sick of 2.5 men it may have a good shot of getting some bigger numbers. but who knows, it may give people more incentive to watch the rich list

  12. brandon says:

yay i love this shop its soooooooooooooooo cool

  13. Marco says:

Not edgy huh? Oral sex (unseen but suggested) happened in the first few seconds of episode 1! It’s definitely going to get some trimming at 7.30pm.

  14. Sillygostly says:

I noticed that some (if not all) episodes of this show were rated PG. If this show is anything like The O.C. (content-wise), then they wouldn’t have to do much editing at all, and in the event that the content is too strong to edit without butchering the storyline, they can air double episodes during non-ratings.

  15. phillip & jessica says:

Phill: Thank god it’s back. I’ve been waiting!
Jess: Woohoo go channel ten. i like cheesecake

  16. TEN.rocks - seriously :) says:

I wish it airs every Friday at 9.30pm. 7.30 is way too early for a awesome drama show. Even 8.30 was too early.

  17. George says:

Well I think it’s fair to assume that the final episode of Good News Week will tank completely.

  18. DanR says:

Yay! Some silly, don’t take yourself too seriously dramedy to enjoy at last – so sick of real people on their miserable “journeys”

  19. Harry says:

Yes! About time TEN made that move.. glad its back on although this time – stop with advertising like its a porn show.

  20. Dave says:

7.30pm is perfect. I agree with Jack, it wasn’t that edgy from the episodes we saw. I wouldn’t mind if they had to cut something things out – hey! we wouldn’t know anyway…. Beverley Hills 90210 aired Fridays 7.30pm. What’s the difference?

And Chris – i was thinking the same thing. Bit of a worry I think!!

  21. Qwerty says:

I agree that this time is a bad timeslot for this kind of show. I heard a little about future events and 7:30 isn’t going to work. 8:30 suits much better.

Everyone is saying ‘ten give this a chance’ but besides the first returning episode it is in non-rating periods so it doesn’t really matter to ten if it is on or off, so chances are it will stay on, (hopefully) form a gathering, then have great ratings for the next (finger crossed) season.

  22. Jack says:

I forsee light editing, it’s hardly that edgy.

  23. Tony says:

What a stupid timeslot! 7:30 PM??? What are they smoking at Pyrmont!

8:30 PM Monday, or Tuesday would be sufficient.

7:30 PM is to early for this kind of drama. Not suitable at all.

  24. Chris says:

But how many people switched to downloading after the “fast tracked” season was taken off the air a few months ago?

  25. William says:

its hardly appropriate for 7:30, I foresee pretty heavy editing…

  26. Jason says:

Best decision they’ve made in weeks – this kind of show needs a 7.30 timeslot to catch all the kids whose parents still give a damn about bedtime!

  27. Matthew See says:

Glad that 10 is resuming screening of 90210.

    The new timeslot sounds good.

  28. HooHoo says:

Good. timeslot Tip: Give it five weeks 10. If it rated badly in Week 1, don’t do a kneejerk reaction. Give it time to find an audience.

  29. Belinda says:

I was just wondering last night whether I can be bothered watching this show again. I wonder if many previous viewers are in the same position?

  30. Craig says:

So by the time it comes back they will be some 6 eps behind, I just hope the ratings pick up so when it comes back in the US after their winter break it can continue in the 7:30 time slot.

BTW Ep 11 on the 18th of Nov appears to be the last one in the US before their break. So if it’s not axed again the mid-season final will air 29th of Dec. Meaning a break of several weeks until it comes back in the US, probably sometime late in January.

  31. Sillygostly says:

Shut up! That *is* a good timeslot. Good on Ten for giving it another shot on primetime (even though I don’t watch the show). I hope it rates well for the mere fact that it will encourage the networks to invest in more drama/comedies instead of all this factual/cop show crap.

Any word on what will replace GNW/Supernatural during non-ratings, David?
