Tony – he was only hired for the Australian tournaments.channel 7 don’t have rights for US tournaments.

its a shame as he was a very good commentator. to inform him by email is very cowardly.

I think Seven are just relaying the US coverage this year – commentary and all. That would be why this guys isn’t required.

i looked forward to Jack and Sandy Roberts commentary each year – they bounced off each other like the pros they are. Tops shelf commentary now gone – Seven will have a sour old last year of coverage it would seem.

Hope TEN pick him up for their events, they should pick up the masters and the open from next year you would think. Seven don’t have right to give him career advice.

When Newton first joined Seven it was on a non-exclusive basis, which meant he also appeared on Ten and the ABC for a while.

strange….I thought 7 learnt from 9 how to hold onto whats good for them long term? Golf doesn’t really lght up the ratings anyway? He should not worry as TEN HD will pick it up and if they are smart he will have a job there. “If they are smart” .
