The Ex List is axed

By David Knox on November 2, 2008 / Filed Under News 29

CBS has axed its comedy drama The Ex List after just four episodes. It was one of TEN’s mid year acquisitions.

The show revolves around a woman who returns to past relationships after a medium tells her she has already dated her future husband. She is told she has one year to re-find her future husband otherwise she will spend the rest of her life single.

Based on the Israeli series Mythological X it starred Elizabeth Reaser, Rachel Boston, Adam Rothenberg, Alex Breckenridge.

Meanwhile there are more episodes ordered for Gossip Girl, Samantha Who, 90210, and One Tree Hill.

Wow thats upsetting!! I don’t watch many TV shows but really enjoyed this one. I agree with Meow – 1st half of the 1st episode was pretty average but developed some witty lines further in. I was hooked as soon as the roommate appeared with the pubic wig!! Very disappointing move from channel 10 and CBS.

I was really enjoying the show. It filled my Monday nights while I’m holidays. It seems everything I enjoy gets axed. Where’s 90210, Moonlight, Men in Trees…

I was loving the show. Really sucks that it was cut. I really don’t see the point of airing it for 4 eps…

Just when I was enjoying some lighthearted comic relief that we could relate to… there’s only so much Law & Order Criminal Intent & SVU, CSI Miami & NY and NCIS repeats I can cope with!! Another boring summer of free to air 2nd rate rubbish! Although, I was enjoying Army wives…but will it be on next week????

Seriously, i liked the show. I am very disappointed in CBS pulling the show as it never had the chance to develop like other shows. Yet we are served with another series of 90210 which is nothing compared to the original and whose ratings i imagine could not have been better than the Ex Lists but due to fans of the original (and whom are obviously holding on for it to be just as good, which will never happen (have you seen the cast? What a laugh!) the ratings were moderately better. Perhaps the show should be given another chance? Hire new screenwriters, but dont waste a good idea!!!

Right now there are 3 disspointed girls sitting in this lounge room. The ex-list was a fantastic series. Great cast and hilarious screen writiing. It’s for all those ‘sex and the city’ fans, who want something light hearted on a Monday night. Channel 10, big mistake. This was a much talked about show in the office for all us girls.

We want an ending at least!

Oh my gosh, first 90210 gets axed (twice!) and now this! I LOVED this show! It was so funny, and Elizabeth Reaser was wonderful! Why do they keep doing this?! I agree with the whole why-start-a-series-if-you’re-not-going-to-finish-it thing. It’s totally idiotic >=(

  19. Chickie December 15, 2008 at 8:57 pm -

I really enjoyed the show, It was funny and I go into it also..
So annoying when they won’t finish a series. So stupid!

  20. Meow December 14, 2008 at 8:11 pm -

That show was hilarous, didn’t like first half of first ep, really got into it by the end because wow was there one hot dude on in the next episode! Woo!

  21. Brielle December 4, 2008 at 6:20 am -

Im really disappointed with that. I really got into the show and now it’s just a matter of time before its finished. I cant believe CBS just have a thing with randomly putting things on and ripping them off. Honestly, whats the point ?

That sucks, I’ve seen all episodes so far & its a good show- I really like it- great supporting cast and better than the description sounds

  23. SwaySlayer November 3, 2008 at 11:47 am -

I saw the pilot and needless to say, I liked Elizabeth Reaser much better when she was an amnesiac patient in Seattle Grace….

  24. Saga November 2, 2008 at 11:32 pm -

Its a rather stupid premise. I can’t say it will be missed. They can run it over summer or something…

  25. ali November 2, 2008 at 8:27 pm -

Awful premise for a show anyway. Glad its gone.

  26. Zambora November 2, 2008 at 3:32 pm -

David, any idea of list of shows grabbed by each network here.

Get the feeling Ten,Seven & Nine might need to buy up 30 shows in hope that 1 or 2 work here

  27. Sillygostly November 2, 2008 at 2:27 pm -

“She is told she has one year…”

So how long were they expecting the series to last? :/

  28. Craig November 2, 2008 at 8:46 am -

Wasn’t this the show that replaced Moonlight on CBS? Thats karma baby!

So I guest we’ll never see the 4 eps here or any others they made but didn’t air in the US.

  29. bindi November 2, 2008 at 5:30 am -

ha ha, that is moonlight karma hitting ya CBS
