Nine personality apologises for ‘rowdy’ night

Now it's Nine's turn as a Temptation model is arrested for public drunkness -but released without charge.

Just days after a Seven star made headlines for public drunkenness now one of Nine’s faces was arrested for the same misdemeanour on Sunday night.

The Herald Sun reports that Temptation model Scott McGregor was arrested by police in Brunswick St, Fitzroy, after a day of pre-Christmas celebrating. He was taken to the Melbourne Custody Centre and released just after midnight, without charge.

McGregor, who also hosts the Foxtel motoring series Blood Sweat and Gears, said yesterday he regretted the incident.

“I was arrested for being drunk in a public place. We were out to have a fun day and it was just a bit of bad luck that it ended the way it did,” McGregor said.

“I’d like to apologise if anyone has taken offence along the way.

“I don’t think anyone wants to spend a few hours in a cell. I definitely regret it.”

McGregor said he had been enjoying an annual pre-Christmas get-together with old schoolmates before his arrest.

“Every year we have a Christmas lunch,” he said. “We went on and played lawn bowls in North Fitzroy and after that we walked up Brunswick St, bar-hopping along the way,” he said. “We were being loud, and probably a little bit rowdy, but nothing too over the top.

“I suppose I was in the wrong place at the wrong time.”

  1. Sssssh …. don’t let Liz Ellis, Australia’s wonder women of netball, get to hear of this … she will be convinced Scott was overdosed on Viagra if he was palying lawn bowls … and will no doubt make some joke about it on the ABC.

  2. stones. glass houses.

will 9 now bring out the same “expert” who claims this man also needs to get help and is ready to chuck him into rehab. not everyone who has ever had a drink in their life is an alcoholic. and exactly how does this expert form his opinion, after being andrews doctor and treating him for a period of time? no coz that would be a breach of confidentiallity so instead they get some idiot who has never even met him to give an opinion based on zero evidence, might as well grab someone off the street and stick them in front of the camera, they are just as qualified as the so called expert. andrew got heaps of sympathy so now 9 thinks they’ll get some of that, but the second person to jump on the band wagon will never get the same level of sympathy, instead everyone just gets sick of it. plus this one would have been a lot harder to keep quiet with arrest records, if they hadn’t sold the video of andrew no one would have known, but this one would have come out, if anyone cared or knew who this bloke was that is.

  3. JohnTV: “… getting Sandra Sully legless …”

I had to LOL at that one. Of course Sandra would be joined by her Late News buddy “Bradley” McEwan…

  4. Geez just having a good time celebrating chrissie with mates and he gets arrested.

Drunk in a public place? That’s everyone at this time of year lol..

  5. Typical Channel Nine these days – always following Seven’s lead !!!

I bet you the bosses over at Ten are getting Sandra Sully legless as I type this so she can make the papers – after all Ten don’t wont to be left out…

And just imagine when the scandal hits the stars of “The Movie Show” over at the ABC after drinking too many sherries at the local bowls club !!!

  6. *sigh* once again, who cares. If something like this again makes the news something is seriously wrong. The Herald Scum is on fire at the moment with their hard hitting journalism.

  7. In his case … who cares … he is so hot that he could get away with anything! At least he does not come accross as arrogant like Andrew O’Keefe does.
Did anyone see Scott on Temptation last night??? What an beautiful man! That pyjama bottom only look is sooo sexy on him! How about a half naked Scott McGregor calendar???
    Jack!

  8. How does “nothing too over the top” result in a night in the cells at the Melbourne Custody Centre??

But at least Nine maybe won’t be so judgemental now on Andrew O’Keefe who at least didn’t need to spend the night in a lock-up

  9. Good grief Charlie Brown.
How bad must you be for the police to detain you ?
I am not a prude, certainly drank a bit in the past but never got so bad as locked up by cops or lying in street drunk.
What is wrong with these “wannabe celebs” ?
Or is it they want their 5 minutes of fame to be 10.
Their catch cry should be “look at me, I am an idiot”

  10. Is the Herald Sun going to run a front-page story on every drunk person on Melbourne’s streets this Xmas season?

Because that should keep them in front pages for the next few decades.

You’d think they’d have learned their lesson after the readers turned on them over the Andrew O’Keefe beat-up. Oh, wait. They’re the Herald Sun. They never learn.
