Sisters losin’ it for themselves

Meet two sisters set to compete in The Biggest Loser 2009.

Meet Perth sisters Holly and Mel Scouler, two of the contestants on 2009’s Biggest Loser reality show.

Next year the show features pairs, be they couples, siblings or friends.

Acording to news.com.au, Holly, 20, used to be slim and attractive in high school and says she was “quite a bitch” to her overweight sister, Mel, 18. She thought it was cool to call Mel fat and ugly around her friends. But now Holly is the bigger sister and feels horrible about teasing Mel.

“I really want to make it up to her,’’ Holly says.

“I’d love to come out of the (Biggest Loser) house best friends with Mel.

“I want us to work as a team and motivate each other.”

Mel hinted at some potential fireworks between the sisters.

“One minute we hate each other, then 10 minutes later we love each other,’’ she says.

The article hints at other changes to the TEN format next year, but notes the return of trainers Michelle Bridges and Shannan Ponton.

This again raises the question -what about host Ajay Rochester? Despite assurances from TEN and FremantleMedia she is returning to the show, so far her name and likeness fails to appear on TEN publicity for the show, including at the 2009 network programme launch.

The show is a key programme for TEN in the first quarter of 2009.

  1. I’m so excited to see The Biggest Loser again! I hate reality shows but The Biggest Loser is one that I thoroughly enjoy and just can’t wait for the next episode! I wonder how this “couples” thing is going to work though?

  2. I think Ajay is like what Jeff Probst is to Survivor, Phil is to the Amazing Race, or Gretel (was) to Big Brother. Their small segments of immortal dialogue (e.g. “It’s time to cut the fat”) and the accompanying chemistry between host and contestants are paramount to reality shows such as the Biggest Loser.

… And I’m sure TEN has got her to front the next series. Hopefully.

  3. Does anyone really care if Ajay Rochester comes back or doesn’t?

I personally don’t. It’s not she does much on the show nor does she bring an excellent personality. Shannon and Michelle of course you need them and plus they have lots of air time.

But all Ajay does is do her little announcing at the vote and at some stupid piles of rocks and the challenges. She’s boring. She doesn’t go beyond the ‘host’ role.

    She can easily be replaced.
