18.77m if we’re splitting hairs, but it does skew old, with fringe almost matching it in 18-49 with less than half the viewers.
The Mentalist actually got closer to 19m which is astounding and it beat NCIS for the first time albeit not by much.
And 1m watched Wallace and Gromit..!
Is it too early to call the Bold and the Beautiful switch a failure?
What were the numbers for prison break last night?
The Mentalist got 18 million viewers on tuesday night, so it’s not going anywhere fast, which is good.
Working Dog production your a Disgrace……if it wasn;t for Channel Ten you would be nothing!!! I give you two weeks befor chaneel 7 gives you the chop!!!
NCIS is awful, why do people continue to watch repeats of stale, old, repetitive, boring CBS cop shows. The only one of these with any substance is The Mentalist, at least the characters in that show are interesting. Eli Stone is a good show, more ppl should give it a chance
I must admit I hadn’t gotten much into the Herring skits, but that was hilarious. I swear Shaun Micallef is the king of the impersonation. First Billy Connolly earlier in the series, now Andre Rieu, legendary stuff, shame to see it rating poorly
It was the season finale. Probably no decisions yet. How fab was it….
Hey David, did you happen to catch the end of Newstopia tonight? The last skit almost gave off the impression that they’d been axed… do you know if this is the case?
“may on December 3rd, 2008 12:20 pm Britney scored so low…. =|”
Third in its slot, but only 49,000 viewers from first place, and it probably killed it in the demographics.
Hope Wallace and Gromit scores well tonight, it was absolutely brilliant!
I only started watching NCIS about 1 month ago so Im happy they are playing repeats, same goes for Rush.
I love NCIS and even though they were repeats I had never seen the first episode before and I watch it every week. I think this will be great for everyone that wasn’t a fan before or who was but missed a few episodes. It could possibly build a stronger audience in 09 maybe hitting the 1.5 mil mark weekly, which would be beneficial for ten but who knows time will tell.
Go TEN!
NCIS is the best show.. well deserving. Britney rated well, it was a good special. Friends went well too.
sure ten won the night but it wouldnt help them for next year as none of the shows they aired were experimental shows as ncis is normally on tues anyway and the britney special was a one off. they are better off experimenting with new shows and losing the night as this will give them more ammo for next year which they desperately need.
Australian public again shows how stupid it is with those ratings, so many people watching NCIS repeats.
I was expecting not to like Eli Stone but found it very enjoyable. Those numbers seem to be pretty decent too considering the drop off for Dirty Sexy (which I also enjoyed.) Keep them on seven!
ahh the nanny must be on 11.30 in the eastern states, coz here in adelaide we got ‘alive and cooking at 11.30 on nine. bummer
Britney scored so low…. =|
well i guess we can say goodbye to DSM at 9:30 its been axed so its not like 7 has to invest in it as its been axed. betty and eli will probably grow and rate ok.
i dont think las vegas will rate well tomorow for 7 either
great than 10 can get some good news
Sorry what does DOA mean? I assume Dead??
Great to see Friends getting over 800 k people just love this show!
Ditto NCIS i love this show & repeats hold up well similar to CSI.
Nik C, eli stone is DOA in america. There will be 21 eps in total, so twice a week over summer will be enough to air them all over summer break.
I really enjoyed Eli Stone for something different. I notice the second season is currently ariing in the US. So why is Channel 7 airing it over summer and twice a week? Is it not a popular US show? I am wonderign if I should bother as it might move… especially if 7 continue with it after Summer….
go ten!! show seven what your made of!!! ncis rules!!!
oh cool.
Well done ten!, Bit of a silver lining considering how much bad luck its gotten.
friends went up 810 000, i think thats the highest its gotten. That britany show did good , i thought it would bomb. and then NCIS, what a gift. 1.2 mil for 8.30 n 9.30 repeats??! Out of the blue beat survivor and prisonbreak too. Guess when theres crap alternatives people will switch (the inlaws, meet the parents rip off?))
Sevens previous big night, now coming third coz of crappier shows like betty, eli stone and dsm. can see why two of them hav been axed in the US.
Its really interesting how at 7.00 last night, ABC won with its news. People arent warming as much to the commercial networks 7pm alternatives, and the 7.30 report won 7.30 against alternatives Betty, chopping block and for the record.
Ouch to DSM! UB and ES did better I just hope they keep it going and don’t chop things in the first week!
Good on NCIS and TEN winning the night, when was the last time that happened?
Crap!!! ten won the night………Well Done
Nick..the nanny has just started on 9 at 11.30 weekday mornings.
Great Ratings for ABC/SBS for Monday…..
I really Love Howard Years Series,It is indeed Compelling…
And good to See Swift and Shift Couriers’ increasing No. of Viewers each Night!
knoxoverstreet, is the nanny currently screening on free tv or are u taping it off fox? Good to see you like the good old sitcoms
Where’s Kath and Kim?
Will and Grace should still be on TEN. Enough of Friends already.
Britney : For The Record was amazing and deep. I know support her in whatever she does.. she stuck it up the medias holes!
First ep of Temptation on Monday and I remembered it was on at 7:25pm. LOL
David: “Suspect it will take viewers a while to realise it’s back.” I’ve been longing for Temptation for months, so if tragic fans like me forget that’s it’s on, you’re absolutely spot on David!
Friends is doing ok improving 100k + over W&G. Good move by 10 IMO..but I could be a bit biased as I’m a huge fan. Now with The Nanny + Raymond + HI I have four sitcoms a day to tape. Throw in 2.5 Men / BBT and summer is not too shabby!
Scrubs did really well (I think? i know that’s considerably more than what Heroes and Prisonbreak get in 10.30 timeslots…)
If only Seven would give them a better chance now that it has an audience.
Hi David do we know if HI is doing any better than MASH
I saw last night.. Will and Grace has been removed and Friends is back on.. they are just so indecisive..
Wow! ABC comes third and wins 3 of its timeslots! Well Done to them, thats impressive. Laughing out loud at TENs result.
I think as bold fans realise the move, and new viewers come across it, the ABC news will increase as people will draw away from 7 & 9 news. Unless people actually like the news, like the readers, the music, the weather graphics. and they’ll just stay put. which is stupid. news is news.
People still wont tune into friends. Far out , i thought it would do better with less of a competetition, but i forgot how popular how i met your mother was. Guess people want to watch newer sitcoms made this century
Go Scrubs for getting more than 500k at 10:30
To Tazza about the Rich List. I was a contestant on episode 18, which happens to also be the last of the second series. 2 were on in June, so we should get 16 episodes this time around, and with 2 weeks off for the tennis in January, it should go through till early March. Last night’s show was episode 7. Let’s hope it does well enough to come back for 5 more episodes after the tennis, then there’s a third series, later in the year, or in 2010. It’s a show everyone has a chance of getting on and doing well, if everyone auditions, so keep it going.
I think Ten should of stuck it out with Will and Grace and tried to build an audience as Jermone said try to get some of the Home and Away fans to cross over, and that way as the episodes progress the newer seasons would of been on around early next year and maybe started rating a bit better. I am just drowning in friends this year.
Monday is all SBS I love it, I don’t know what I would do without Top Gear, S&Shift, South Park and Shameless. SBS knows it stuff great shows (Newstopia) and has smart promotions, I wish more people would embrace it good to see it did well with 8.4% hope it surges on.
I think it may pick up. It was so refreshing to have it back though and loved Ed’s “dust & cobwebs” remark! Such a shame it’s finishing up as Ed and Lavinia are a great team.
That’s sad for Temptation. At least if it rated well then we could have bagged Nine for choosing 2.5 Men over Temptation, but they’ll be justified if Temptation continues to come third overall.
And can I say, Survivor Micronesia might be the best season of Survivor ever.
No. It’s 5 city metro. Suspect it will take viewers a while to realise it’s back.
I wonder if the figures for Temptation include the fact that on NBN for example it was on at 5.30pm despite being advertised for 11.30pm (which it will be on at when cricket is shown). Think Temptation will do very well as audience grows.
On Central Coast we are lucky to have NBN and 9 as Temptation at 5.30 is a great lead in for news. ACA at 7pm a great alternative as well.
OMG, Scrubs got 500+ and it’s on at a dreadful timeslot! Surely that shows seven they need to give it a better chance. I’d suggest putting it on at 7, even starting at the start of the first season, instead of how i met your mother
that new show army wives is bloody awesome!! i would give it a 9 out of ten for its first ep! hell funny show with drama along the way, good cast too! i will be watching next week!!!
good numbers for bones carrying most of the new episode audience into repeats. fringe also did well considering the numbers it was getting before it was canned, most people stuck with it.
i am anxious to find out how the temptation vs. HIMYM turns out, last nights was too close to call.
friends only pulled 100k more than W&G did last week. i was assuming that alot of home and away fans would have moved into W&G during the summer. 10 should have kept it.
Do you know if Seven is going to stick with Rich List over summer?? I hear there is 1 episode left and then a new series filmed. Do you know??
Thanks
I am quite impressed by those figures for Bones, 939k over 2 hours for repeats is fantastic. Hopefully more people catch onto this brilliant show and it rates well next year. Ouch for Temptation, I though it would win it’s slot, not come third behind ABC and a Mother rpt! I think those low figures for Survivor is a result of 9′s promotion of it being on Monday, or should that be lack there of. Bold did okay I guess, but a 16% share fo ten is pathetic. ABC and SBS made huge gains last night.
What on earth is the appeal for 2 1/2 Men? Same old story lines involving two dysfunctional middle-aged men (who use copius amounts of black hair dye) trying to bed attractive women. Ho hum!
RichoTB, you obviously didn’t see how badly 90210 did last monday.
SG you couldn’t turn on 10 recently without seeing that dreadful promo for Army Wives.
I could be wrong but it looks like OOTB is dropping off..IIRC it was in the 400s last week?
axe how to look good naked!!! it dragged both shows after it down!!!
BTW Craig, only 4 eps were aired in the US before it was axed. However, all 13 eps finished production, so the storyline will actually be closed by the final ep. I don’t think Eli Stone will do too well up against NCIS tomoz, which is a shame as its a pretty good show. I’m thinking it’ll put figures of around 800,000, although the Thursday figure may be higher
The Ex List bombed. 500 thou is the worst Ten’s had in a while, I think even Supernatural and 90210 were rating higher. Army Wives sounds like a more soapy version of the Unit, I can see why it bombed. At least Ten tried something new, kudos for that.
HIMYM did pretty good, not cracking a mill but winning its timeslot. Hopefully it builds over summer and kicks 2.5 men in the teeth. OOTB lost about half its viewers from last week, that one doesn’t have a chance of a second season beyond its current 150 eps.
“Hoover Dam ep was a premiere according to their info.”
Thanks David but I have a feeling I have seen it, maybe I did see it on PayTV at some point?
I like The Ex-List and hope ch10 sticks with it of the 8eps and air the 4 eps that didn’t go to air in the US.
Wow. Ten really tanked last night. Not surprised since they aired two completely unknown shows back-to-back with little to no advertising.
Bold rated reasonably well though. I would expect that figure to grow as more fans become aware of the new timeslot.
I tried the two new programs on TEN last night – Army Wives wasn’t very good, although I did enjoy The Ex-List. I can see why it’s on over summer, but I’ll stick with it. Just a shame it didn’t rate too well (not that it really matters now)
It’s probably the first time as about six eps were made IIRC and 7 only aired a few the first time around.
Probably have a couple more to go.
Hoover Dam ep was a premiere according to their info.
“Seven Wonders of the Industrial World were shown on ABC a few years ago, and then on Seven last year.”
Thanks for that, but ch7 is saying it’s on 7 for the first time, are they lying?
Seven Wonders of the Industrial World were shown on ABC a few years ago, and then on Seven last year.
Spot on, Ryan and knoxoverstreet. I was thinking exactly the same thing about Old Christine coming back.
I really enjoyed the Big Bang Theory last night.. I have seen the ads but not too blown away.. but since there was nothing else on.. it was fantastic!!!
I remember watching the Brooklyn Bridge one of 7 wonders of the industrial world on the ABC. Good show, awesome graphics and re-enactments
*sigh* tv was soooo shit last night. Thank god for Dexter s2 keeping me occupied. Pretty stable night for 7, and I agree they will probably continue to own the night. 9 did okay with Big Bang, and ten’s school of rock unfortunately did decently, expect another dose before years end!
Tonight should be an easy win to 7, I think Bones is going to do quite well with double ep rpts, and The Rich List will probably stay above 1mill. Army Wives looks shockingly bad, and Fringe will probably bomb again.
“Has the 7 Wonders been on ABC or somewhere else before? I feel like I’ve seen it and I know it wasn’t payTV or a DVD.”
Yeah i watched it on either sbs or abc a few years back.
Excellent series btw.
Has the 7 Wonders been on ABC or somewhere else before? I feel like I’ve seen it and I know it wasn’t payTV or a DVD.
Hey, Survivor fans!
I don’t know if anyone else has noticed but there’s an episode of Survivor: Micronesia scheduled tonight at 10.30pm, in addition to Tuesday’s episode!
I expect 7 to continue winning Sundays with the current schedule. My guess in 9 will win Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. 7 will take out fridays and tuesdays, 9 may even come 3rd to Ten on Tuesday. And Thursdays will be close between 9 and 7.
I thought last night was pretty good..we had a special on QLD weather on 9 that was informative and entertaining..then 2.5 men/bbt..then old frost & one i don’t think i’ve seen which was a bonus.
Great to see big bang doing well ,could be a winner for 9 next year if it keeps building. I agree though 9 should bring back old christine as well and ditch till death.
Sundays are so boring now. Even pay tv is a bore on Sunday. I actually watched a couple of dvds last night as there wasnt even a decent movie on. Seven winning the night not really a surprise.
Sundays are so boring now, every show i watched i only half enjoyed, good numbers for 7WOTIW.
and good stating numbers for lyrics, holby and property. i’m assuming that they will grow over time. especially holby i was expecting that to get like 400k and be horrible but it wasn’t half bad
Good on Big Bang keeping above 1 Mill , it shows ch9 that there is room for more than 10 re-runs of 2.5 Men every week!
So how does the non-rating work or dos it really matter any more?
Holby Blue Top 10 lol, I wouldn’t go getting too attached to that one.
TEN performed alright, I was expecting DFTL and School of Rock to crash and burn.
Hot Property is down just a little on last season.
Its obvious Nine need to nuture more comedies coming out of Two and a half men to build a stable sitcom lineup. They should be bringing back The New Adventures of Old Christine shortly too…
Good to see The Big Bang Theory got over 1m
