Have TEN's new station promos been leaked on YouTube or is it just sneaky viral marketing?

water-sunIt’s been a week for debating viral videos. What’s fake? What’s real? What’s a deliberate marketing ploy?

Now YouTube has two videos of  new TEN station IDs.

Featuring several network personalities and actors, they are built around the theme of “Life. Imagine. Seriously.”

Natalie Bassingthwaighte is filmed in old Hollywood style, Paul McDermott is catching up on the latest newspaper stories and Rove McManus is meandering down the streets of Melbourne.

They are less “wow” and more thoughtful in tone. One is even backed with piano and strings, demonstrating a maturer start to the year.

TEN kicks off its 2009 shows from Sunday.

  2. I finally found the song. It’s titled “Low Tide” and composed by an artist called Noah Sorota. Unfortunately, this piece isn’t commercially avaliable for purchase or download but it’s up on a music production site called extremeMusic.

  5. well who is anyone to pick and bag an ad or some music that they decided to put with it, wish i had the opportunity to make a difference, or top be able to put something together like that to celebrate a network of great and entertaining shows. but i must say, i have been on and off the computer all day trying to find the song from the imagine add, its been on t.v for a while now, and i still cant seem to hunt it down, i’ll be calling channel 10 tomoro to try to find out, but i still just want to express the beautifulness it gives to me, ,and the add, makes me feel a lil more connected to the people that make and run these shows for us, Rove is a great man i’m sure, i am really greatful for everyone on the show and i tell yu, without them, i’d laugh less, and thats just not gonna happen, i plan to laugh and be inspired till the cows come home XXX

  9. I was just wondering if anyone has any pictures or knows where to find stills from the first lclip? Am esspecially looking for the dress Pippa Black is wearing- the white.

    Channel ten had new “Bottom Third Idents” last night. They appeared once of The Biggest Loser. They are not too crash hot however. Still decent though.

    I’m still waiting for Nine to revamp their graphics. They usually do it this time of year. I really want the to get rid of the stupid “discs” and bring back the spheres (balls!). The balls allowed them to do so much creativity. Such as the balls bouncing around the screen as the celebs stare at them. Also it would be good to see the balls, as they tie in with the Wipeout Australia arena.

  13. I liked them – Looked pretty professional. Quite unlike the tacky promos we are used to from the commercial channels where a bunch of celebrities dance around smiling and high-fiving each other while boosting each others egos.
