Sneak Peek: Battlestar Galactica

Premiering January 16th in the US is the second part of the fourth and final season of Battlestar Galactica, in which the colony returns to Earth -but it’s not a pretty sight.

Surprisingly, the episode isn’t directed by Australian Michael Rymer (Queen of the Damned, Angel Baby), who helped set the tone for the reimagining of the series directing the pilot episode.

Rymer usually directs a bunch of eps including most of the season openers and closers.

SciFiWire has added a brief clip from the next new episode. Looks pretty barren out there, people. Very Wall-E….

No word on when this airs in Oz.

Maybe the commercial channels could simply use their new channels to tell us where to download the shows we want to watch!

This would save them the effort of working out how to destroy the shows with bad edits, very delayed and out of sequence screenings and how they can put these shows on at 2am without clashing with their beloved Guthy-Renker episodes. ;-)

Maybe Sci-Fi channel on Foxtel could help out here. Or for those how don’t have Foxtel, 7 or 9 do a sci fi night on their 2nd channel. They are not doing anything as it is, so what is there to lose?

This season will be picked clean off Bitorrent or downloaded off U.S. iTunes by the fans well before it ever arrives on TV here.

And with Channel 10 killing off the HD channel for anything but sport, will we ever see it on FTA again at all?! We all know how well sci-fi is treated on free TV in this country.

The good news is Part 1 of season 4 seemed to come available on DVD fairly quickly, lets hope that the second part will be the same.
