Well here’s a show we never expected to see, the short-lived, somewhat adult, Father of the Pride.
The 2004 Dreamworks animation revolves around a family of white lions, the head of which stars in Siegfried and Roy’s Las Vegas show.
While the voice cast stars John Goodman, Danielle Harris, Cheryl Hines, Carl Reiner and Orlando Jones it was plagued with troubles, not the least of which was the real-life mauling of Roy Horn in 2003.
The series is M rated and employs satire, black comedy and crude adult comedy. While it has the appearance of a children’s show, it included adult jokes and covered topics such as racism and drugs.
Ok, now you’re really interested, right?
All up there were 15 episodes made, the first of which premieres 11:30pm Thursday February 26th on 9HD. Yup, 9HD only guys.
UPDATED: Now out of schedule replaced by double Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip.
