Bumped: 24

After 24's middling return last night it gets downgraded by Seven, and makes way for repeats of Bones.

kiefer241Jack may be back but last night’s premiere of 24 managed 602,000 across its two hours.

Today Seven has adjusted its plans for its Sunday line-up, rushing Bones back into schedule, to air at 9:30pm -but only as repeats.

It will air the episode 14, “The Man on the Fairway” following the return of City Homicide.

This pushes 24 out to 10:30pm, and reduces it to a one hour episode instead of the planned two hours.

  1. i think chanel 7 are stupid its a realy good show they have killed. they change plans and throw it anywhere they feel and hope it works. the show only doesnt rate because they move it around so much and change it from 1 ep to 2 when ever they feel like filling in time its a big expectation to get someone intereested for 2 hours

  2. man this is a joke from C7 at least let the viewers know what is going on. I understand that the brushfires needed the coverage, but then y was a repeat of bones shown instead of a brand new 24….no wonder it didnt do to well in S7 premier because almost all the fans of the show has no idea it was returning as it wasn’t even promoted. 24 is one of the best shows on tv, and C7 does a perfect job at ruining it for Australian viewers.

  3. this isnt the first time there done this. all channels do it what can you do?ever since shows like DWTS started finishing when they felt like. program guides aren’t worth looking at.its probably a waste of time whinging about it they only listen to the majority who just like variety shows.

  4. I bet a lot of people missed 24 redemption a two hour special shown on the previous Sat, our local TV guide gave the new series of 24 a mention but didn’t mention this ‘stand alone’ 24 show. This show was ment to bridge the last series to this one.
Make you wonder why someone would go to the trouble of buying a show and then not promote it.

Still pleased that 24 is being shown though.

  5. So do we know when they are now going to air last nights double episode. Just got ready with the ironing to watch it on the video. Zilch!! Just informercials!! after the late news. Come on Ch 7!!

  6. I am originally from Canada and I can’t believe how 24 is basically non-existent here in Australia. 24 is my favourite show of all time and I was excited when I first arrived here in Australia 3 years ago that 24 was being aired here (although many weeks behind). Once I saw the first episode, I realized that it certainly was being treated as a second-rate program (the show is based on being real-time – meaning that every commerical break has a countdown going into the commerical and out of the commercial – terrible time slot – basically no promotion). With the latest lack of promotion and schedule-exile, does this mean it is a third rate show or even worse. I am extremely disappointed with Channel 7 and only wish I knew where to get 24 downloaded. I am certainly not going to watch Channel 7 for anything else. Channel 7 makes the cost of Foxtel look worht-it…almost!

  7. The bush fire coverage could have aired at 9.30 instead of a Bones repeat. They could have aired 24 after the bush fire coverage. But no! What is the most frustrating thing is that Channel 7 do not even bother to inform people what is happening – no voice-over announcement; no text scrolling across the bottom of the screen – nothing! I am not going to watch television shows on TV anymore. I have been faithful to ‘TV’ for a long time because ‘ratings’ are supposedly important in terms of keeping programs ‘on air’ BUT my television viewing has never been monitored and nor has anyone else’s I know – sorry, but I wait for the DVDs from now on.
