New Zealand’s kooky, dysfunctional family are back for their fourth series tonight, screening on Arena.
This TV3 show is chalking up quite a few seasons now, with a fifth due to commence production next week. As previously reported, there is also a US adaptation underway via Rob Thomas (Veronica Mars, 90210). No doubt the Yanks will probably expect Shelley Long and Bette Midler.
The fourth season begins a few weeks after Loretta’s pregnancy. She has been locked away in her room after she tried to give the baby away after the mandatory twelve day wait.
Pascalle has returned from her trip to the United States with her new husband Milt, owner of the Sunset Channel.
The entire family work hard to try and keep the baby, until Sheree enters Loretta’s room, which gives Loretta a chance to escape. Loretta manages to get the baby to the Colquhouns, but they refuse the baby as they have Corina Ballani’s fifth child, thanks to Pascalle.
It premieres tonight at 7:30pm on Arena.

I liked this show when it was still on FTA on both 9 and 10 at almost the same time now that was funny but sad at the same time cause it was treated so badly and as a result is not shown on FTA anymore 🙁
Don’t have foxtel but loved this when it was on late night FTA. Can someone please point me in the right direction to these cheap dvds? Would love to buy them.

It’s a brilliant show. The DVDs are cheap from NZ too.
I really enjoyed what I did see of this show, but then ten started showing it at various odd times late at night and for a while there, nine were showing some episodes from season one the same time as ten showing season 2 or 3. So it all got too confusing and I gave up.
Love this show – I bought the 4th season in NZ when I was there at Xmas – it’s a fantastic season. Episode 10 is a real scream – just fabulous!
Why FTA networks don’t screen this I have no idea, just a tragedy!!!
I never really go into this show, thanks to ch9 but just checked and the first 4 season can be bought on DVD already, which makes sense since it aired last year in NZ.
