Is this Who’s new companion?

Could former Skins actress Hannah Murray become the new sidekick to Matt Smith’s Doctor Who?
That’s what The News of the World is suggesting. The two actors already appeared together in the play That Face.
Murray played Cassie in the first two seasons of Skins before the cast was overhauled for a new breed.
In that show she was a very convincing, if vulnerable, character.
Sitting side by side with Smith, it surely looks like the next series will be very youthful. Murray is only 19 years old.
She wouldn’t be the first Skins actor to appear in the Who-niverse. Joe Dempsie (Chris) appeared in episode 6 of the fourth series, “The Doctor’s Daughter.”
Skins has certainly proven a good springboard for its talented cast with Dev Patel (Anwar) riding high on the success of Slumdog Millionaire.
The next instalment of Who is expected in the UK at Easter while Smith will debut in 2010.

She was amazing in Skins so hopefully it’s true 🙂
I call BS as well, but I wouldn’t object to Hannah taking on the role – indeed, she’s a very good dramatic match for Matt Smith.
Then again, they could always just give the fans what they’ve long wanted and cast Carey Mulligan instead 🙂
I hope it’s true. She was a great actor in Skins, regardless of the attitude a few people have expressed here – her character was probably the most popular out of all those from the first two seasons.
I don’t watch Skins so this is the first time I have heard of her.
Oh please … she annoyed the hell out of me in Skins … this is a bad idea …
I would prefer “Maxie” from Skins instead!
Jack!
I saw this story, I prefer to wait until the BBC press release lobs in my inbox
hannah would make a wonderful partner for matt ……. she is incredibly talented and can break /warm your heart with her acting skills.
in fact, all of the skins cast are brilliant …. it’s one of the best shows to appear on our screens for years.
I like Hannah Murray, but yeah, given the source (who also says the fourth David Tennant special has been scrapped), I call b.s on this one.
Phew, thank god News of the World is the source so this story can be easily dismissed.
