Media given Battlestar finale peek

Media in NYC were made to swear an oath before Ronald D. Moore not to reveal anything about this week's finale.

battlestar_lLucky media in New York were privileged to attend an invite-only screening of the two-hour season finale of Battlestar Galactica this week.

Writer Ronald D. Moore even made everyone swear a pledge: “I swear not to reveal any of the spoilers I see tonight.”

The print was so hot off the cutting room floor that even executives had not seen it.

“A lot of last-minute visual effects getting dropped in, we need that … shot, where’s that shot, no, go back and do this again, a lot of sound effects — it was just a mad scramble,” Moore said.

“I think the lion’s share in the last week was done by our visual effects guys and girls who were just sitting in a dark room staring into monitors for like literally 24 hours. They just never took a day off for the last four weeks or something. … We just beat the … out of them. They really gave it their all.”

There was a Q&A after the screening but, unsurprisingly, they all qualify as spoilers and aren’t being put out there. Hopefully after it airs they might.

SciFi (with two “i’s”) airs the finale in Australia at 9:10pm this Saturday. Expect tears.
