Gabriella Cilmi will have her American TV debut on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon next week. Sort of one ‘newbie’ meeting another ”newbie?’
Her hit single Sweet About Me is currently being added to radio across the country. Cilmi says it feels like she’s starting all over again in North America.
“It’s different because you’re starting from scratch, I have to introduce myself,” she told AAP.
“I recorded my album three years ago and I’m promoting songs I wrote then and nobody knows Sweet About Me.
“I’m still telling people what that’s about, and when I wrote it and all that kind of stuff.
“I feel like I’ve done it already but it’s nice because I know what to expect now and I’m not so new to it all.”
At the same time Fallon this week noted there is a heirarchy amongst guests booked on late night shows (surprise, surprise).
On Twitter he said, “Letterman show doesn’t want anyone doing our show first so… but, we’ll take them second! (or third)”
Hope Gabriella Cilmi didn’t see that one. After all, Delta got to do Dave a few years ago…
Cilmi’s Late Night with Jimmy Fallon appearance airs next Wednesday on the Comedy Channel.

Oh God no. I’ve heard a few interviews with her as well as her Aria “speeches”.
If they’re anything to go by…
Delta performed on Letterman on September 24 last year (also remembered for the non-appearance of the then US presidential candidate John McCain). And there was an article on this site reminding people to watch it.
