ABC is to screen performances from the BBC Electric Proms, a music festival. The 2008 festival had more than 60 artists, all challenged to come up with new and original material or arrangements of their music to reflect the central theme of the festival.
The title is based on the long-running classical concerts, The Proms, which always celebrates Pomp and Circumstance March No. 1 (Land of Hope and Glory).
Oasis who were the final headline act for the 2008 event performed at the Roundhouse, London and was accompanied by the Crouch End Festival Chorus. A week later it will feature Paul McCartney from 2007.
Others have included Kaiser Chiefs, Burt Bacharach, Ray Davies and a Saturday Night Fever tribute.
It will air at 10:05 on Friday May 1st on ABC2.
