Dance: It’s Charlie, Ben, Amy and Talia.

Last night BJ and Kat left So You Think You Can Dance, leaving Charlie, Ben, Talia and Amy as the final four.

bjkatNatalie’s face said it all -and she actually gets to stay on the show.

Last night BJ and Kat left So You Think You Can Dance Australia, leaving Charlie, Ben, Talia and Amy as the final four.

The four will compete on Sunday April 19th for the chance to win the title “Australia’s Favourite Dancer.” Wonder if they can get Jack Chambers to hand over the title symbolically a la Miss Universe? After all he won’t be our ‘favourite’ anymore, right?

The show concludes with a showstopper finale  on April 26th with MasterChef Australia debuting the night after. If The Biggest Loser ends in the same week (as it surely will) TEN will likely have its strongest week this year.

The last time TEN won a ratings week was the same juncture with the end of Loser into Big Brother in April 2006.

  1. I like everyone in SYTYCD, but the top 8 girls are definetly lucky that penny got injured because they all earnt a spot in the comp. But Amy and Talia were the most luckiest because if penny wasnt injured amy wouldnt have been in the top 4 and talia wouldnt have won SYTYCD.

  2. My favourite (after Danny left) has been Amy, and I really hope she wins, because she’s a fantastic dancer, and I’d love to see her representing Australia on the US version of the show… Ben’s also a fantastic dancer, as is Talia, and even though Amy’s my preferred winner, I wouldn’t be upset if either Ben or Talia win… Charlie I’ve never liked, so I hope he doesn’t win, as his dancing is nothing special to me, and has never stood out from the rest…

  3. I never liked Charlie, but I’m not surprised he’s there. I think BJ put more effort in his dancing than Charlie who was favourite from day 1 and I felt he was more complacent than anything else. I really hope that Talia wins, she has been really the best so far, but for me this year’s SYTYCD is over.

  4. Ridiculous. Penny should be in there (and she would have most certainly won), Stephen should never have been kicked out in the second week, and BJ deserved a top 4 spot.

…I don’t understand who is voting for Ben??

  5. As much as I like charlie, I wish BJ was in the Top 4, he seems to be a better dancer (in terms of technique).

Since ‘Australia’s favourite dancer’ will perform on the US SYTYCD, I’m hoping the BEST dancer will win.. ie. talia or amy… they also had better solos than the guys last night.

  6. Did anyone else notice Jason’s face when Kat said she wanted to thank the big man upstairs? I watched it back on tape to double check and he definately seemed to be making a sort of ‘do you have to’ face. Was fantastic whatever it was!!

  7. I can’t believe how obvious the final four was!
BJ was never going to make it, despite the judges’ standing ovation for his combination with Talia in the overrated hip hop “best routine of the season”. It was always going to be Ben and Charlie, despite the performances. Right now, it’s popularity that wins, not dancing.
Can’t wait for the finale though.

  8. Such a shame. I thought BJ was great. Tough choice though, Charlie and Ben are no slouches themselves. I think the top two females are deserving though, Talia and Amy are just great. Can’t wait for the finale which will be a cracker. Its been a great season.

  9. Callas: there will be an Easter special this Sunday in which the top 20 dancers will perform (I assume this also includes Penny, still recovering from fractured ribs that forced her to pull out of competition). Then the final 4 dancers will perform on April 19 when the voting lines open. The grand final will be on April 26 as before.

  10. I can’t believe there’s no BB this year!! Yes, I’m sad and pathetic, but love it or hate it, it was a staple each week for around a million people for eight years….! How many other shows can claim that (and we’re not even talking about its peak viewing figures from the earlier series…!)?!

  11. The show has been amazing. Talia slipped under my radar early on, but then she started to become the star of the show. She is so completely fearless.

They are all amazing people. It still boggles the mind about the programming – Biggest Loser … then onto Dance where they’re so incredibly athletic and talented.

I guess both programs are inspiring for different reasons.

  12. Poor BJ, after his performances and rave reviews on Sunday night, he looked like a shoo-in. He seemed to handle it better than expected though.

Maybe he had to rip his shirt off like Ben insists on doing every time he performs now to get the teeny girl vote, or change that horrid name of his! I’m not sure I’d like my friends calling me ‘BJ’!

I’ve no doubt Penny would have been in the top 4 had she not injured herself. Whilst gorgeous she just has the most amazing facial expressions, you can’t help laughing at her. When she got something in her eye a while back, the household was in tears.
