mhorneActor Mathew Horne (Gavin & Stacey) was rushed to hospital yesterday after collapsing on stage.

The actor, said to be suffering from exhaustion, collapsed in a performance of Entertaining Mr Sloane.

His co-star Simon Paisley Day called: “Is there a doctor in the house?” as Horne lay still on stage for ten minutes.

A source said, “It was very scary. No one knew how serious it was.”

Paramedics treated Horne before the manager asked the 500-strong audience to leave Trafalgar Studios in Whitehall, central London.

Co-star Imelda Staunton, 53, later pulled out of the evening performance after also becoming unwell.

In recent months Horne has filmed Gavin & Stacey’s Christmas special, the Horne and Corden show, rehearsed for the play, starred at a Teenage Cancer Trust gig and promoted his film Lesbian Vampire Killers.

He was later reported to be recovering at home.
