Hot Tip: home MADE

Here's a tip on where Nine's new renovation series could premiere.

hot-tip1The media launch for home MADE, Nine’s new renovation series, is set for Wednesday May 6th.

Don’t be surprised if it premieres 6:30pm Sunday May 10th. That would also allow for Nine to promote the show heavily throughout the Logie Awards a week before.

The show is expected to run twice weekly in one hour stints.

  1. Watched this last night, loved it. Love the concept of doing makeovers on such a small amount of money, see you don’t have to break the bank to fix up your home. All the designers came across as talented, fun and accessible. Good luck to all teams. Very clever of channel nine to make all of the designers good looking usually on these shows they just have cute guys and tomboy chicks.

  2. I am really lloking forward to this program. I enjoy all of the renovation and home improvement programs as they provide me with a constant supply of jobs for my husband to do around the home. We purchased our home 1 year ago and have grand plans for renovations and extentions, however we have no means in the forseeable future to make these dreams into realality. I would love the opportunity to nominate our home for this program. How do I go about this?

  3. If it is going to be a hour show we will get a half hour viewing plus half hour of commercials in between but i will watch it to see if it is worth the watch each week even though the time slot will interfere with another program i currently watch on another station

  4. Wednesday’s would be a good day to have it on. I wouldn’t put it on Friday, as it won’t be able to compete with Better Homes and Gardens. Nine should really do a show like that with Deborah Hutton as the host. It would be cheap to do, and would most likely be a success (the already have Scott Cam for DIY etc).

Whatever the do, I will be watching it. They should also have a three minute ‘sneak peek’ during the Logies. That would definitely get a lot of attention.

I remember a few years ago Nine used to have permanent watermarks for new shows. For example, I was watching CSI and in the corner of the screen next to the Nine logo, there was a watermark for The Chopping Block. That was very successful i thought (although a bit annoying). They should do that again.

  5. This show would have probably been a formidable force at 7pm stripped…now, it will probably be really successful at first before going the way of Domestic Blitz and The Outdoor Room
