Nine returns the US news and current affairs show 20 / 20 to air after a long absence.
Returning at 12:30am tomorrow morning (tonight) the show last aired on Nine in 2007.
Designed similarly to 60 Minutes it focuses more on human interest stories than international and political subjects and is co-anchored by Elizabeth Vargas and John Stossel.
But while it’s good the show is back on Nine, the eps are actually a few weeks old. Tonight’s edition aired in the US on February 20th.
Sky News also screens 20/20 premiere episodes at 2:15pm AEST Saturdays.

Ten actually show a lot of US 60 Minute show stories on their 11 am – 12 pm weekday news, which is why it’s usually superior to their 5 – 6 pm news.
Does anyone know if WIN (including Nine Perth & Adelaide) will even air this because at 12:30am, they’re moving programming mountains just to air their six hour old repeats of the 6/6:30pm news?
Late nights are really the only time WIN stations don’t line-up their programming with their PBL-Nine frenemies…
This is great news. Along with Dateline these are two really great shows that i never bother to watch but might make an effort to tape them from now on.
About time this show was brought back. Back in 2007, about mid year, I started to watch this program and before I knew it, it was taken away from me. Good to see it back and it would be nice if Nine could get the rights or show us ABC’s Primetime. I’ve always found their stories fascinating but never been able to see them.
I caught this show tonight – better than 60 minutes or ACA by a long shot… So, like The Wire, Curb and other shows I’ve now long since seen/forgotten, I feel 9 is again wasting this program….
Get rid of either ACA/Today/60 Mins and I will possibly watch your channel, Nine…
Love it, along with Dateline NBC. John Stossel (Spelling) and his quirky reporting.
Even when Nine previously showed 20/20 up till November 2007 it was delayed by at least a month between the original abc screening & the Nine screening.
I wonder why Ten didn’t consider airing American 60 Minutes?
I’ve watched some of the 20/20 stuff on SkyNews, why is ch9 wasting it’s time with this if it’s not showing it in the same week, it is a news related show after all.
Noticed that in the EPG. Definitely watchable if it’s only a few days old – but 6 weeks old? We usually record it from Sky News on the weekend at watch later in the night. Wish they’d put on 60 minutes USA as well late night. Better than trash and infomercials.
Nine buys US 60M stories from TEN.
God bless those independent thinkers in Nine’s programming department. Seven starts showing Dateline NBC at around midnight on 7HD, Nine follows suit.
Give me a break!
