Returning: The Celebrity Apprentice

By David Knox on April 30, 2009 / Filed Under Pay TV 4

celeb-apprentice19Never mind Where Are They Now? here comes Who Are They Now as Series Eight of The Celebrity Apprentice begins on Arena.

This features celebrity candidates vie for the title of Donald Trump’s, “Best Business Brain.”

Instead of a job with Mr. Hair, each of the celebrities will be competing to raise more than $1 million in funds for their favourite charities by participating in various business-centred tasks held in New York City.

Get a load of this lineup: country music star Clint Black, TV personality Khloe Kardashian, Baywatch‘s Brande Roderick, figure skater Scott Hamilton, singer Brian McKnight, comedian Tom Green, footballer Herschel Walker, poker pro Annie Duke, pro golfer Natalie Gulbis, Deal or No Deal model (yes really) Claudia Jordan, Singer Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins, Monster Garage host Jesse James, basketball player Dennis Rodman and comedian Andrew Dice Clay.

Oh and one Joan Rivers and her daughter Melissa Rivers. Hope Joan lasts a while!

It starts on May 7, Thursdays at 8.30pm.

It’s replaced Amazing Race as my favourite reality show now. Last season was excellent.. this one’s just as good… this week’s ending featuring Joan and Melissa was memorable to say the least. Well done to Eden Gaha for his role in turning a tired format into a vastly entertaining and enjoyable tv show.

I don’t know how much reality I can take – May will be a busy month. As well as this we have I’m A Celebrity daily in May, The Apprentice UK continues and The Restaurant Series 1 finishes in May and 2 starts the week after.

My wife is loving watching this on hulu while in the US where it is close to finishing – very glad we get to see it here as well.

Can’t wait to see the Dennis Rodman “intervention” !
