Seven Adelaide: don’t touch that dial

Seven Adelaide was off air late last night for about 45 minutes.

sas7Seven Adelaide seemed to have some transmission issues last night.

For about 45 minutes the network was affected, with online forums reporting “Glitching, grey screens, pixelation, no sound, 2 frames per second, skipping, etc..”

Many viewers who reported ringing the station to complain (or indeed alert them to the problem) said lines were constantly engaged.

The trouble affected screenings of Eli Stone and Carpoolers.

  1. Why did you bother showing round one from Winton on Saturday when you had no intention of fulfilling your obligation to your viewers on Sunday. I wasted my time on Sat, and had adjusted my plans for Sunday to enjoy the rare opportunity to watch V8’s due to my work situation. Ohhhh no – channel seven has decided we would all prefer to now watch Port play football. We are overloaded with football, it’s on every channel but the motorsport we love – only on Channel 7. Well for your knowledge I did waste my time watching the hopeless Port play and loose – thanks for being so clever and providing what you believe that we need.

And then – you play the V8’s at 10-30pm on Sunday night – so most who have to work can’t watch it – but worse than that – I did stay up to watch it so you would not win over me – then what??? You put on some stupid irrelevant ridiculous shows in the middle of it without an introduction of what was to now be played out. I have no idea who won, how good the race was – but I was supposed to be content to watch some American crap you got for a bargain price. I turned off at 1230 AM totally pissed off with Channel 7 forever.

Well pay attention — if ever we rev heads have a chance – we will ensure you give the motor sport back to Channel 10 – you deceive us – waste our time and talk all the time of how good you are – don’t kid yourselves. You have lost me totally – you can only redeem yourself by being consistent and honest with viewers – get it right or get out of the game.

  2. It didn’t affect Sydney the Sydney broadcast. However, Seven should still consider just encoring it here as well because Eli Stone started 20 minutes later than advertised. If people were TIVOing it they would have missed the end.

  3. I think this had something to do with the strong wind and rain which hit Melbourne last night. As programs for all Seven stations are broadcast from Melbourne’s Docklands Broadcast Centre now, adverse weather like this can affect transmission.

  4. definately happened in brisbane too, but luckily eli stone had just finished, given adelaide is half an hour different in timezone to us (aren’t they?) i’d say this happened to both states at the exact same time. for us in QLD it was around 11:45-11:50pm when it began. it was across every single 7 broadcast i checked the analogue and all digital channels, both SD and HD, all had problems.

  5. How annoying for Adelaide and Brisbane viewers. I remember something similar happened on Channel 7 Sydney during Angel in 2004. I had to ring my mum and get her to tape it off Prime.

Just in case Seven do not encore it. the episode recently aired in the UK so it is “around”, even though it has not aired in the US yet.

  6. This happened in Brisbane last night as well. During carpoolers though, thankfully, eli stone managed to finish before it started.. It went for at least half an hour (prob the same time, just half hour later due to the time difference)

  7. I was watching Eli Stone last night with my mother, as it’s one of only a few shows that didn’t get interupted during the Easter break.

As it was getting to the most interesting part of the show Channel 7’s coverage stuffed up, so we switched to Ellen on Channel 9.

I hope Channel 7 will replay the episode or do we have to wait until series 2 gets released on DVD?

    Not happy.

  8. Dude it’s ‘affected’. U guys love taking the piss out of this city ey? Ahh well.
It was weird, i thought it was part of a show , but the grey screen went on for about ten minutes as i had switched on 35 minutes after it stopped broadcast.

Does that mean ratings are affected?

  9. Lol @ the above poster.

If you want to be pedantic, tens of twenties is around 50 percent… but I know you didn’t mean that.

There are quite a number of people who watch Eli Stone.

  10. It was a very upsetting night for Adelaide I’m sure, literally 10’s of 20’s of people were effected. The rest of Adelaide was busy trying to work out how to use this new fang dangle “wireless” device
