When Tracy meets Nick

On Monday Tracy Grimshaw talks to shamed swimmer Nick D'Arcy in what is described as an "uncomfortable interview."

darcyOn tonight’s A Current Affair, Tracy Grimshaw has an exclusive  ‘confrontational interview’ with swimmer Nick D’Arcy.

D’Arcy, who was charged with  inflicting grievous bodily harm after an alleged brawl with swimmer Simon Cowley, has been dropped from the Australian Swimming Team. Cowley was left with a broken jaw and nose, a fractured eye socket and palate, and a crushed cheekbone.

In the ACA interview he addresses claims that alcohol was behind the attacks.

Reportedly uncomfortable during the interview, he reveals: “I do have problems with binge drinking. I do have problems with impulse control so that’s one of the things I am trying to move forward with, with my psychologist.”

A Current Affair airs 6.30pm Monday on Nine.

  1. What a public relations disaster for D’Arcy. Along with his parents, they enabled us to see that the apple hasn’t fallen far from the tree…completely avoid of remorse and blame!

I am all for second chances and moving on, but only when a lesson seems to have sunk in…in this case the family all seem to have their heads buried up their own arses!

  2. D’Arcy is just an arrogant, spoiled brat. If I were him, I would keep my head down and be grateful for having so many last chances. He has had more than most people get.

  3. Why go on TV?

This won’t rehabilitate his image. He definetely won’t impress the swimming committees and A Current Affair is hardly a venue for fair and unbiased “journalism.” They’ll hand his ass to him… in the very unprofessional way you associate with ACA.

  4. I also wonder how much he is getting to do this it is pathetic to think that if you are famous and you do bash someone you end up getting paid for it what next

I would love to see both trash tonight and a crappy affair banned people used to hound big brother but these current affirs shows are a lot worse than BB ever was

  5. I bet they haven’t interviewed the guy he assaulted? This guy doesnt deserve the airtime. Whats next? Giving airtime/interview time to convisted rapists?

  6. And on Tuesday’s ACA an exclusive interview with Simon Cowley on what he thought of Nick Darcy’s response. Then Nick Darcy will show up on TT talking about Simon Cowley’s response to his interview.
