Cold Case takes up Mentalist slot

So far there's no new replacement for The Mentalist yet, with Cold Case in its place, possibly as an interim measure.

cold-case1After The Mentalist ended on Nine last week there has been some curiosity as to its replacement. So far, there really isn’t one, but it could just be a temporary stay while major sporting events intervene.

Tomorrow night RPA runs for an hour, with Cold Case screening two eps from 9pm.

Next week there’s another State of Origin in play.

The week after, July 1st, Cold Case will screen at 8:30pm, followed by a repeat and then Wimbledon from 10:30pm.

From this point forward programming is still under wraps, but another State of Origin is set for July 15th.

  1. I absolutely love ‘Cold Case’, and always look forward to two episodes of it on Wednesday nights, but I’m sure a number of people won’t be happy to see it up against ‘Criminal Minds’ for half an hour, from 9pm, because they enjoy watching both shows…

  2. although i like both cold case and the mentalist, 3hrs of crime is just to much, they should have just shown one ep of cold case and then a show of completely different genre at 10:30. same with sunday although it’s 3.5 hrs if you include that show about real crimes after double csi miami.

  3. Surely Nine can find something better than this tosh. Why not bring back Fringe, ER, Survivor and the rest of the (superior) programming they have locked inside their cupboard? Two episodes of this stale CBS procedural is ludicrous. At least get rid of the repeat.

  4. There are only six episodes of Cold Case to go in the current 23 episode series and then we will be to up to date with the US until September. So hopefully they air all six in the next couple of months. Hopefully after tomorrow’s episode 18, it will be episode 19 (1 July), episode 20 (8 July), episode 21 (22 July), episode 21 (29 July), episode 22 (5 August) and episode 23 (12 August). That may be hoping for too much based on Channel 9’s history, but if they all get aired by the end of August it would be a good result.

  5. CC has become quite a staple for 9. it rates better that the CSI’s and now it’s heading a prime 8:30 slot.
to think it was placed as 10:30 fodder at the beginning of the year.
