Gone: King of the Hill

By David Knox on June 27, 2009 / Filed Under Programming 20

koth2Seven has dropped King of the Hill from its Thursday night schedule effective immediately. Ok technically it was screening 12 am Fridays.

It has been replaced with repeats of Room for Improvement from next week.

TV Tonight understands it will make a return, but on another Seven channel. Hmmmmmmmm…..

Also from the week of July 12th, Family Guy and American Dad will screen both Wednesday and Thursday nights, although Family Guy will be a repeat on Thursday July 16.

I wish 7 would stop mucking this show around and sell it to 10 already. This has been going on with King of the Hill for years!

Seven better be airing King of the Hill nightly on their new channel… and on primetime. Though I’d much rather they sold it to Ten.

    @ Craig

Seven are almost 40 episodes behind. And King of the Hill also changed its opening credits midway through season 13 where it also make the switch to HD (followed by The Simpsons a week later).

Geez I saw the series final of Atlantis so long ago I’ve forgotten most of it, Maybe it will be on the new channel?

We know they have settled on the new channel’s pitch. While I can’t confirm KOTH is for this (as opposed to 7HD) I suspect it is.

Is this a hint at Seven releasing some info on a new channel soon David? ;)

its really good to see that king of the hill could be moving to sevens new SD channel, its looking alot better then i thought it was going to be, lifestyle/cooking shows all day and night. if it does move i hope they put it on at a decent time. also they could so family guy on their new channel, and doesnt channel 7 have a deal with NBC so could they also buy the Jay leno show when it starts on September 14 at 10pm on NBC, and as far as family guy being a M rating program which means it has to be showed after 8:30pm at night one night if not every night could look something like this

7:30: King of the hill / 8pm: American day / 8:30pm: family guy / 9pm: Dateline NBC/repeats from Seven such as lost and heroes or documents and other comedy shows. / 10pm The jay leno show

and i really like Rabbit3 idea as dar as doing a comedy channel which is like i listed above and i guess a bit of NBC Dateline and other shows such as heroes could also wouldn’t be that bad for a comedy style channel, i know its not comedy but i do hope they repeat some of channel 7s 11pm shows at a decent time on 7SD2 even if its 6 days later/the day before the new eps on 7.

Good to see both American Dad and family guy on 2 times a week now, i hope it lasts. O’ and as far as calling it C7, if i was the CEO of seven i would never want to hear the words C7 ever again after their sport channel failed all those years ago. But i do like the name C7 for their new SD channel and i do hope they choose it.

why are they going to put family guy and american dad on thursday too, is it to fill the heroes slot? if so why not put stargate atlantis on finally, we have been waiting years.

Does Seven ever stop chopping and changing its three animated series? Completely impossible to keep track of.

With two episodes a week They might get American Dad! up to pace before season 5 starts in the US; then they can run it in 2011!

  16. John June 27, 2009 at 9:39 am -

    Yay!

  17. Rabbit3 June 27, 2009 at 8:45 am -

I still think Seven is in the best position to run a comedy channel with all the comedy programs it owns. Vicar of dibley, Fawlty Towers (and many other BBC classics), plus all its US content. They could call it….. C7. I would watch.

  18. Ruddeger June 27, 2009 at 8:28 am -

    Channel Seven suck
It’s on at midnight and it still gets dumped for repeats of lifestyle crap.

  19. Craig June 27, 2009 at 7:17 am -

What was the point of even showing it in the first place if they were just going to remove it?

I like the show but lost track of it years ago, thanks ch7! BTW how far behind are they? I noticed the American Dad ep this week was from last season, going on the opening credits which changed in the latest season to air in the US.
