curbyourenthusiasmSeason six of Curb Your Enthusiasm is finally returning to Nine.

The Larry David comedy is back from12am Thursday July 9th (Wednesday night) with the episode “Meet the Blacks.”

It will be followed, most fittingly, with a Seinfeld episode.

  1. Channel 9 is advertising (on TV) at 9pm tonight (Tuesday 20 October) a show call “The Seinfeld Reunion”. I heard an ad for this on Channel 9 last night around 10:45pm tonight Monday 19 October and it is listed on online tv guides. Obviously a title to grab ratings! Firstly there is no such thing as a Seinfeld Reunion show so it is an outright lie. What this show actually is, is a mid-season episode of “Curb Your Enthusiasm” (episode 3 of season 7 to be specific). Wow an entire show renamed for marketing purposes.

In the current season 7 of Curb Your Enthusiasm (which consists of 12 episodes), which isn’t being shown on free to air Australian television, there is a story arc where Larry David (the star of Curb Your Enthusiasm and real life co-creator of Seinfeld) is talking to the Seinfeld cast who play themselves in random episodes about a possible Seinfeld Reunion show… it’s basically a joke about how stupid and generally unsuccessful reunion shows are and the joke is that they are talking about a reunion show which isn’t actually a reunion show because it’s in another show, Curb, basically a deeper level take on the show Seinfeld, a show about nothing. A joke within a joke.

Without any other episodes of Curb Your Enthusiasm season 7 having been shown on channel 9 prior nor anymore advertised to be shown after tomorrow night, an episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm (episode 3 of season 7) is being advertised as “The Seinfeld Reunion”. Is this a new low for Channel 9’s disrespect for viewer intelligence and its own credibility. Curb Your Enthusiasm is a Great show… why not just show the entire series and advertise it via it’s real name, it’s like watching Seinfeld anyway in terms of story and laughs.

  2. Ahhh Nine Programming – I wish I had your drugs!

This season was brilliant and needs to be run in a consistent timeslot for viewers to enjoy the brilliant story thread.

I agree with others here and advise to buy the DVDs and spend a wintery day watching the series in one sitting.

  3. I’ll look forward to watching 2 episodes, waiting 4 weeks, watching one more episode then seeing this disappear off TV forever. Eff you channel 9.
