What occurred on Saturday night was to be expected, however 10 hung on for 2nd place. AFL for both 10 and 7 is the kiss of death in both Brisbane and Sydney. As soon as the Lions start losing, they’ll be gone and Sydney has never at any stage had a real interest in AFL and even less in the Swans, whether they win or lose. When 10’s three premier shows finish their runs, it will be back to 3rd place for an indefinite period. Watch the figures for State of Origin this Wednesday.

Before The Game does air in all cities. It aires on Ten in Melbourne, Adelaide & Perth at 6.30 Saturdays & at around 2am in Sydney & Brisbane. It also usually airs on Saturday nights in all capitals at around 6.30 Saturdays on ONE. If you are wondering why it isn’t on in prime-time on Ten, well that is because it is an AFL show and so it doesn’t have mass market appeal in Sydney & Brisbane.

I would also like to see it tried in prime-time in Sydney (at least before Swans matches) and in Brisbane however the above states why it isn’t on Ten in prime-time in Sydney & Brisbane.

Sydney only cares about the Swans if they are winning – which they are not at the moment. Hence low figures. Given that, there’d be no point having a second ALF team based in Sydney.

i dont even know why sydney bother having a team in the afl! their own city wont watch them and their crowds are poor! good number for afl last night though, last few weeks looks like afl has climed in ratings on both 7 and 10.

Sports Tonight on TEN had a good figure for its timeslot. Great to see TEN beat Nine and take second!

Nine can’t keep up. After it fell apart in 2006 and 2007, seven kept strong with its abc amercia and nbc lineup, while ten snatched cbs from nine leaving it with some warner bros stuff it cant seem to put in the right place. I think nine needs to completley revamp its primetime lineup otherwise nine will keep losing every single day.

The only thing nine has done right this year is reviving its news room, its increasingly popular thursday lineup (which used to be its worst rateing day of the week before the network collapse) and some good quality sports programming. I think nine needs to rethink Two and a Half Men and maybe put in some good movies from warner bros (since WB has alot of them) throughout their lineup to streamline their days and get back into the amazing shape they were in before the slowdown. Nine also needs to cut the movies they are showing on saturdays and put some programming like gossip girl or sex in the city back on to attract younger audiences.

There goes Ten’s lead. I doubt these positions will change after tonight, with Seven winning yet another week, Ten coming a very impressive second and Nine a humiliating third.

@ Andrew B. Oh dear, what a disgusting lineup. With a schedule like that, Nine deserve to be third.

Whats the bet 10 loses its nerve & pulls the 1.5 hour masterchef next wed?
If 10 does manage 2 fall over the line into 2nd this week they can thank 7’s wed-sat for it because it has nothing 2 do with 10’s 2nd half of the week. 10’s 2nd half of the week is the most appalling of all channels by a large distance. Mc & ncis are fast approacìng there end & the deep-seated programming (read lack of good shows) problems that have plagued for years will become crystal clear again. Ugly sores are hidden by those two bandaids

@ Ellie: HomeMADE on next Tue (23rd) 7.30 and 9.30. Then June 30 at 7.30pm only. Then final episode July 7 at 7.30pm.

And guess what will be in the 9.30 timeslot from June 30: Two and a Half Men. I kid you not! 3 episodes in the one night all at different times, none after each other. And 10pm is Adults only Commercial break down.

And another Two and a Half Men will appear Wed 7.30pm July 8th! So that’s 9 (NRL states) or 10 of them a week (AFL states)!!

It just gets better over at 9. They deserve to be 3rd.

Good to see Dance US pick up 200k from last week. The difference between Seven/TENs points on Friday is enough to make Seven win the week!

Any figures for Extra for Brisbane on Friday? If its ahead of DOND by more than 41k, 9 would’ve won its first 5:30 is years. Considering it was up on Wed and Thur by 60 and 65k, that is possible
