Saturday Disney started 30 minutes earlier yesterday and guess what: it dropped even further and lost to Today's Saturday edition in all five major cities! Which is a shame, because SD has been an institution for more than a decade, and Today's Saturday edition was only revived more than two months ago.

No its far from boring. And she does not look like a transexual. Its the best aussie drama in my opinion, watch a few more eps and you'll slowly get into it.

This Afternoon coming 200k behind Bold and the Beautiful and MASH will see it getting axed rather soon unless it improves. And I have to say what's with all the network fanboys on here, people are supporting their favourite network and bashing the rivals left right and centre. Sure, its always been that way, but its happening a hell of a lot more now, its all quite silly IMO. They all have their faults, IMO Nine is the worst as they have no good programming and trashy shows but Seven are becoming just as bad with that World's Strictest Parents and True Beauty crap coming up soon. I watch ABC (Chaser's, news, Media Watch) a lot more than the commercial nets anyway.

Benno - Andrew B's comment is probably a valid one - most of us watch these crappy current affairs shows at 6.30pm because on FTA during this timeslot there is very else to watch - sometimes you watch this rubbish because it is just so bad and some of the reporting so cringeworthy it's almost laughable - some of the journalists go to extraordinary lengths to outdo each other with their 'indepth coverage' and 'sticking up for the little man' stories but essentially all they seem concerned about is trying to outdo each other - they consistently run the same story at the same tim with each claiming it to be an exclusive. If ACA is doing a story on say Schapelle Corby - guarantee Today Tonight will feature a story with sister Mercedes or that mother of theirs, just to outdo the other - the viewer then is caught in their crossfire - they become so much like those Frontline reporters you almost expect Mike Moore to jump out from behind a bush at anytime!

While both shows feature prominently in prime time it doesn't excuse either from scutiny either because of the quality of the current affairs reporting or by featuring consumer affairs stories that are largely just product placement ads. If we as viewers simply accept this type of programming they'll keep doing it. Let's hope Media Watch or better still the Chaser Boys do a bit of a job on these two shows in the coming weeks - it might all open our eyes a bit more!

ACA and TT rate so well as there is nothing else on at 6.30 other than Neighbours which does not appeal to most, together with the fact that so many people are drawn to those sorts of stories even though they do them all the time.

James Grant, you watching is another viewer on that total figure. Can't complain about so many people watching something then doing exactly that. I too can't fathom how so many people can watch even some of that drivel.

Both A Current Affair and Today Tonight do not deserve the ratings they achieve. Both programs have become nothing but 30 minute advertorials for whatever product placement or latest fad they want to pass off as current affairs!!!.
Last night both programs were bragging an exclusive story on 'property hotspots -this was nothing more than a blatant ad for real estate agents to advertise their latest properties. Both programs had the agent, the name of the agency and sweeping vision of these hot properties and their asking price - excuse me for stating the obvious but isnt that an ad?? Both programs spent around 10 minutes in prime time!!! advertising these properties and this is supposed to be current affairs.
Tracey Grimshaw should hang her head in shame - over the last few months she's been touted as one of Nine's most credible and gusty performers, supposedly because of the way she handled Matt Johns and Gordon Ramsay - yet she fronts a show that week after week is proclaiming the next big thing in toys /anti-ageing creams/bras and...now properties. This is not current affairs Trace - just blatant advertorials and the marketing companies must love it when they front your show requesting an ' exclusive'!
Today Tonight even used last night's show to plug the best personal loans on offer around the country - they listed the five best lending institutions, their location and their interest rates - now is this current affairs or simply a 5 minute unpaid advertisement for the banks - you be the judge!

Nine still has problems, it's like they take one step forward then two steps back! On top of that the "What Really Happened" special was awful and a re-run of a show aired on ABC last year. Even TENs coverage with the CBS News is just lazy programing with no local content.

I hope TEN can at least pull off 2nd again this week.
