Perhaps David the difference between ABC media launches, and say Freeview media launches, is that the ABC ones actually have a whole lot of substance to back up the media conference. Which in turn means that the ABC ones are very well implemented ideas.

I don’t think anyone can say the same about Freeview.

your absolutely right David, to many of 7s press conferences and comments to the media spend most of the time telling us how bad the other networks are rather than telling us what makes there network any better. just cause you don’t like nine doesn’t mean you automatically will think 7 is great. in regards to 7′s joint media party all leckie did was overshadow the reason why the event was being held and instead made it all about himself when it was meant to be about the success of sunrise.

Actually the point was it’s not freebie gifts that makes a launch effective, it’s preparing all the right info with photos, websites, PDFs, Word docs, and giving journos a hands on experience.

Case in point of a confused launch resulting in bad press: Freeview.
