Every penny should go to the people who saved his life, and every penny he makes should go to those who saved him until his debt to the Australian public is repaid. I am sick of these people getting money whilst we are left to pick up his search and rescue bill.

This is why I never watch ‘60 Minutes’, because they love to throw money around… That, and the fact most of their stories, like this one, don’t interest me…

Perhaps the story should focus more on what happens when people do stupid things like this how to prevent it. Intstead of some attention seeking person walking through the bush pointing out what he ate.

If of course I chose to believe him.

I reckon people should have to pay all money and expenses back in these situations before they can begin to profit…

12 days of searching adds up to millions of dollars, he should be ashamed for taking the money.

Sorry but didn’t this backpacker say he wanted the whole amount go to pay to rescue services for saving him. After all, he cost all Australians time, effort , money and resources.
I will not be watching – sounds like he is after book deal and the rest – if it is true -5 pizzas the night before, gimme a break.

I doubt 60min will get half the numbers of the MC final, which I predict at around 2.5 mil, like others have said.

Wow.. so much for a million dollars! I really can’t see who would be interested in this story? Oh yeah I was in the bush and had to sleep under a rock and eat grass.. Just call me Bear Grylls.

How boring! they will probably tell him to throw something else in to make the story interesting like he was attacked by a bear! *rolls eyes*
