Banned: Family Guy ‘abortion’ episode

"FOX will not air the 'Partial Terms of Endearment' episode of Family Guy, but we fully support the producers' right to make the episode."

FamilyGuyFOX has decided not to broadcast a Family Guy episode next season that deals with abortion, titled “Partial Terms of Endearment.”

The network released a statement saying,”FOX will not air the ‘Partial Terms of Endearment’ episode of Family Guy, but we fully support the producers’ right to make the episode and distribute it in whatever way they want.”

The episode came to light when producers talked about the plans on the show’s Comic-Con panel.

The news comes on the heels of the show making history as the first animated series in decades to receive a best comedy series Emmy nomination.

It isn’t quite clear what’s in the episode but it will probably be available in the US on DVD.

  1. i may be wrong but i’m guessing when fox provides international broadcasters (eg: fox8) with the season in which this episode is a part of they will leave this ep out as it was not part of the season’s regional run. nether the less there is no reason why they wouldn’t be able to have this ep on the dvd.

  2. Since Australian broadcasting standards are considerably more relaxed than American FTA, it will most likely air here and abroad in its original production order (and become subsequently available on DVD and iTunes).

  3. Everyone is going to want this episode despite it’s controversial issues. But why shouldn’t Fox air an episode that deals with abortion issues? And if they say its controversial, then they’ll get a whole bunch of viewers.
