Denise Drysdale, Brian Cadd, Ian Turpie and Adam Richard frock up for a swinging '60s special this week on ABC1.

1Ok cats get ready to groove as Spicks and Specks travels back in time this week for a ’60s special.

Dressed in psychadelic garb are guests including Denise Drysdale, Brian Cadd, Ian Turpie and Adam Richard. They are joined in the spirit of the swinging era by Adam Hills, Alan Brough and Myf Warhurst.

All the questions pertain to the 60s and a Beatles cover band is on hand to help. Pete Smith supplies the voice overs.

The star performer of the show has to be Denise ‘Ding Dong’ Drysdale, still firing with her unique, up-front delivery. She even shows us why she was Melbourne’s first ever go-go dancer. Why is it this woman not more regularly on our telly?

The 60s special airs 8:30pm Wednesday on ABC1 with ’70s and ’80s specials due later this year.

  1. I went to Denise and Bob Downe’s live show last year and it was hysterical. Surely there’s a place for her on our tv screens, especially given some of the non talents that currently have a gig!

  2. That is a very good question “Why isn’t ding dong on television?” Surely the falling out with Daryl Somers sis not do collateral damage to her career? Daryl isn’t that big.

  3. So happy Denise is finally back on tv,looking foward to show.Wish so was back on tv but networks think us public dont want too see performers of a certain age, well we do wanna see them.Denise been in showbiz for over 40 years and given so many laughs to my family over them years.
