I am watching this show here in NZ at the moment. I can’t believe the favourtism that is shown. Absolutely blatant. Fancy bring people back that have been voted out. If they were going to bring any one back it should of been Brent. People here have kept going on about Chris, being dirty etc. The fact that Chris has a particular look, does not make him dirty. Julie’s sweating into food made me feel ill. She can’t dam well cook. Her carry on is rediculous. She could never run a commercial kitchen. As for a cookbook, gawd forbid, I wouldn’t want to buy it. The lady is a very average home cook, not a Masterchef. Thats crazy.
The two people who should of been finalist were Chris and Justine period.
LOL marketable even that leaves me cold. She really is pathetic.

I agree wholeheartedly that the show has been rigged from the start .The judges have always had a soft spot for plain old dowdy home-mum julie .The real masterchefs were Chris and Justine who could certainly serve up a meal at any top restaurant .Julie was definately a wreck with every meal she cooked and really cracked under pressure -she should not have won !!!

First of all, I am not surprised Julie won, not at all. The game is obviously rigged. The thing I am surprised about is that people keep shouting “Julie won fair and square!! Get over it, she’s the best chef!!”. These people, I am sorry to say, are either blind or stupid. Julie is a great cook, i’ll give her that, but she should not be the “Masterchef”. How can a home cook, who nearly has a heart attack caused by terror every time she is cooking something, be a master chef? All through the competition she has been disorganized and too emotional. Every time she fails at cooking a dish properly she whips out her story about her children and her passion, cries, and is then let through. But when someone else spoils their dish in any way, the judges say “It’s too far in the competition to be making mistakes” and they are eliminated.

Another thing bugging me; people keep saying that Chris was too arrogant. Ummm….maybe he was arrogant because he can actually cook professionally?
Chris was obviously not happy that Julie won and I don’t blame him. Why should Julie, who has been in the bottom two most of the competition and barely pushes through each week win? If someone has been near the bottom end of the competitors most of time, I think it is safe to say that they aren’t cut out to be a chef. Chris, Andre and Justine were the only people who should’ve won in my opinion, but they were knocked out because of one or two bad dishes and were beaten by Julie who has mucked up a lot more than a few dishes. You say it was a fair game? Forgive me while I laugh.

Oh and before someone replies saying “Your just a Julie hater, get over it”, please register that I put some thought into my debate. If someone retaliates with an uneducated answer, I will not even consider it a worthwhile opinion.

Nevermind Masterchef the makers of this program must think its viewers are MasterChumps if they think we are going to swallow that Julie won fairly.

In our house Julie has been about the most popular contestant. Until the final week we accepted that she had fairly scraped through many tests. But this week even the hated Chris was thought to have been harshly treated.

One contestant who did a bad job was told their dish would be sent back by a customer so we we won`t judge it. Would they send back plates that had clearly not been plated out fully? I know I would.

Why don`t they just tell us that they are looking for a popular face to push supermarket products and being able to cook comes a distant second.

as Cheldus said, talk about a friggen sympathy vote
the only reason she won is for tv ratings !

did you see how the judges came around and told her how the chocolate was sticking to the bench
then come back half an hour later and tell her, the sorbet is to grainy !
didnt see poh getting anyhelp !

Well done girls you have made it!! I was surprised in the last episode about the decision, but we were not there to judge and taste it.

It sounds like from the judges comments that Julie despite not “plating up properly” had the tastiest food on the table and the food that people would most like to eat and enjoy – which is why she has gone through to the final.

Of course she has had good weeks and bad weeks – but there has always been someone much worse that week which is why she is still rightly there!!

I have to say i think she is brilliant! She represents real women and real kitchens and thats what we want.

I love the fact that Po and Julie are the warmest friendliest people on the show and they are the ones that are the winners!! I want to aspire to learn the recipes of a really lovely cook that has good and interesting technique ( Julie and Po when they do this well they are real winners).

I am glad that this competition has been judged on taste all the way through and not just on confidence.

Go girls, hope the final is just as exciting.

Chris’s beef cheeks looked like a dogs dinner! Pretty much how he presents, I know whos food I would prefer to eat! Guess it all came down to the taste of what was on the plate. I think Justine should have made it to the last 3!

We all know it’s Julie who won even that she forgot the stuffing. Fancy going somewhere were she cooks and she forgets the main ingredients Yuk. No thanks as for Poh she can’t even cook a decent asian dish we all saw that. So as for the Chefs or shall i say they think they are chefs they would learn a lot from a first year apprentice they should go back to the kitchen and start from scratch as a first year apprentice that would improve maybe how things should be done.Donna Hayes??????Joke

I am a Mum, 50 with kids….. I wouldn’t vote for Julie, nice as she seems, lamb, no stuffing, I could cook better any day.,.in that time she should have completed one good looking dish at least. Chris plated 3 a good looking dishes that should have counted for something. Poh is the best cook left but when does elimination mean elimination, bring Chris back next week, give him 2 chances like Poh…. I watched the biggest loser and bringing back eliminated contestants is not fair, as a viewer it is just confusing because you have moved on. A lot of people, including myself lost interest in the show after Chris went, in fact I skipped my first episode. Guest judges should be “guests” Donna Hay was really dominant, it was clear all along she did not like Chris at all and favoured Julie, I think the other judges lost the plot letting her have so much on input into a single challenge.

I digress a little…. Correct me if I am wrong David, but isn’t this the highest number of comments ever posted on a particular subject since the start of TV Tonight.!!! Big Brother did not get this much feedback.

If so, well done…not only is Channel 10 breaking all records with the ratings, so is TV Tonight.

Get some standards! You might think that uncooked, unfinished basic food is great! I personally believe that the show has had far better cooks eliminated with Julie being given a free ride time and time again. What the hell Chewy…. are you one of her kid she keeps sobbing about?

Chris’s downfall came before he had even started, namely having to impress Donna Hay. Julie appealed instantly to her as their demographic and styles are similar. You could read it all over her body language. I for one have lost all credibility with her and will look for other options regarding cook books – shame.

It was disgraceful that Julie was selected over Chris. She didn’t plate up and being a food photographer myself, Chris’s dish looked much more interesting and better styled.

Once again Julie used tears and emotiveness to persuade the judges to let her through. Chris on the other hand, has an unsteering determination, a thorough and clear vision, plus his idea is great and will encourage a lot of blokes into the kitchen. However as he couldn’t articulate it clearly (and without Julie’s uncontrolled emotion), it never won favour with the judges.

I am also not happy that some of the contestants were reintroduced – is this a competition or a gameshow?? Having said that, I hope Poh wins it as I would rather eat (and photograph) her style of cooking than Julie’s bland and boring tripe.
