The Nine Network has confirmed GO! as the name of its new entertainment channel, with a slew of titles set to air.

go99The Nine Network has confirmed GO! as the name of its new entertainment channel, a name first revealed by TV Tonight in April.

Set to launch on August 9th, the channel will offer themed nights including reality on Tuesdays, science fiction on Wednesdays, and female-skewed content on Thursdays.

Titles will include Fringe, Survivor: Gabon, Weeds, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Gossip Girl, The Hills, Moonlight, The Big Bang Theory, CSI: NY, Neighbours at War, Bad Lads Army, The Bachelor: Officer & A Gentleman, Dog The Bounty Hunter, The Wire, ET, CSI, Just Shoot Me, Little Britain, Aliens in America, CSI: Miami, Eleventh Hour, Privileged, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Seinfeld, Hell’s Kitchen and Wipeout Australia.

Some titles including The Vampire Diaries will start on GO! instead of the traditional Nine channel.

CEO David Gyngell talked about the the offering of the channel versus pay television.

“If you’ve been paying a thousand dollars a year subscription we might be able to give you a reason to save a thousand bucks.”

The youth-driven channel is targeted 14-39 year olds and available to viewers with digital television or a set top box.

CEO of PBL Media, Mr Ian Law said: “the launch of GO! is an important step in the evolution of free television in Australia. It means a significant increase in the choice available to viewers and advertisers on free to air television. We think the proposed schedule for GO! is exciting and as a Network we are focussing very much on having two channels with distinctly different content.

“We are already in the market talking with advertisers about our offering of Nine and GO! and it is a very exciting time for Australian television and the PBL Media Group.”

GO! will also be available on WIN. TV Tonight hints that there it could be GO! 88.

  1. please get rid of ‘home shopping’ we don’t want another station again saturating our screens with this rubbish on GO 99, you didn’t do it at the start of broadcasting, and why do you repeat shows all the time

  2. I couldn’t believe my luck when I sat down this afternoon to watch Frazier while having a cup of coffee…my all time favourite episode was just starting. I called my sister and daughter and told them to watch Niles in the Valentines Day episode as I had told them how histerically funny it was. To my horror, right in the middle of his one-man slapstick, you threw in an ad break and ruined the entire act! It was only a 5 minute routine; surely, you could have waited two more minutes? You wouldn’t stop in the middle of a song for an ad would you?

    So disappointed Go TV 🙁

  3. Some of the old TV shows are very welcome and good to watch without the questionable material that permeates a lot of currently produced shows.

The one major complaints that I have and find objectionable, is that most of the female voice-over announcers who advertise upcoming shows speak like they are prostitutes plying their trade on a city street. Can we have some “normal” voices please?

  4. channel Go 99 has good old shows but the amount it repeats it’s self is reticules.
First same show twice in day then changed it to two diffrent shows in one day but repeat exat same show 24hr later. And the you repeat it no more than a moth later.
You’ve played the same episode of bewitch 3 time in a month.
    Ridicules. Ridicules.
Soon I’m not even going to bother looking at it.

  5. So GO is like GO Harvey (from Harvey Norman’s advertising campaign) or Go Holden (from Holden’s advertising campaign), But now its GO The New entertainment Channel for Channel Nine.

  6. the ad for it you can watch on the 9 website also shows chuck and pushing daisies as titles for GO, so i guess them selling to foxtel was only the first run rights and they retain the right to repeat them.

  7. As being deaf, I’m more curious to know if they will have subtitles on this channel if any. I really want to see Survivor: Gabon. I’ve been wait for so long and spoiler-free.
