So long, Prison Break.

Just a reminder the last ever episode of Prison Break airs tonight.

prison-break7Just a reminder the last ever ep of Prison Break airs tonight.

This is the second of those two “extra” eps that were filmed for a DVD release in the US.

You can catch it at 11:30pm on Seven.

Thanks for the fun Wentworth. And Robert Knepper was fantastic.

That first season was a kicker. Pity about stupid Scylla…

So what were your series highlights, guys?

  1. i thought the show ended 2 weeks ago with the flash forward and Michaels death…. i’m a bit confused by this last episode ( i missed last weeks) … in any case, this last episode was excellent and a great way to finish it. The other episode was a total let down and a really bad way to finish an amazing series. David, can you clear up re. these last two episodes – they don’t even appear on the official FOX website?

  2. worst season was 3 coz there was no sarah. my favourite season has to be 1, the way the tattoo connected everything and all the twists, turns and thrills, it had me glued to my screen and counting down the days to the next episode. i wish 7 would repeat season 1, either on the 2nd SD or maybe in the middle of the day as they do with other shows from time to time. one of my favourite characters was Abruzzi, he was a bad guy but not as bad as t-bag so it was ok to like him.

  3. Not sure why they showed the last 2 eps where sara was in jail!!! Should of just left on the episode ” Killing Your Number ” where it wrapped everything up perfectly. And best episode Riots, Drills and The Devil Part 1 and 2.

  4. I thought it ended 2 weeks ago with the whole flash forward to the cemetary, and showing the outcomes of the General and etc… The whole scylla 2 or even 3 season arc was just rediculous… 1st season was great, second was ok… but then it just went downhill fast…

  5. Series highlights… you can’t go past the tatooed torso and revelation that it had all the details for the escape in the early eps. PB had some great characters and performers, I agree with all those mentioned. Going back to the first and second seasons there were some memorable performances by Stacey Keach as the Prison Head and Pattricia Whetting as the President with a secret in the first season. I thought it was bizare, that the show had a very final finale, but then came back for another two more eps. That was weird.

  6. Great, great show.
Only seen the first season and maybe 10 eps after that.
Plan on buying all the DVD’s very soon though, and recently watched the 2nd last episode – taping tonights.

  7. Loved this show…season 3 was far and away and weakest but it was heavily impacated by the writers strike in the US…I had a bit of a soft spot for Tweener in S1 & 2 I have to say…and like most, I kind of loved to hate T-Bag! will miss it all though…

  8. Yeah it was a fun series that was a nice “Pack The Brain Away For The Next Hour” show, when the Scylla stuff came in I even enjoyed that, granted at times I half expected The Company to turn out to be part of The Centre and Miss Parker, Sydney and Broots to come in and work with General Krantz, while Jarod ended up helping Scofield out, but that whole The Pretender feel to those episodes made me smile regardless.

One note: The breaking up of the series was not reallu a Channel 7 thing though it ran like that in the USA like Season 1, Episode 13: Aired: 28/11/2005 and then continued on with Episode 14 Airing on 20/03/2006 and Season 2 doing the same and Season 3 ending after 13 Episodes because of the Writers Strike on 18/02/2008 (which is part the reason that Season was affected the way it was).

All up though was a nice run and i wonder if the Women’s Spin Off of Prison Break: Cherry hill will ever get off the ground (they set it up already I think with Gretchen but will not know for sure until after this last episode).

  9. I have enjoyed all of the seasons. I have loved scenes with Michael and Sucre. Even though Mahone killed there father I have come to like mahone. I loved the episode 2 weeks ago and cried at the end. Loved all the escapes and when they finally killed wyhat. I hated his voice. But most of all I loved that Michael and sarah finally got together and had a son. But what Im going to miss the most is Michael’s smile. Farewell Prison Break.

  10. Absolutely loved this show – never missed an ep… like a few others i really enjoyed season 4… sure, it wasn’t quite as good as 1, and to a lesser extent 2, but it was definitely pure entertainment – loved mahone and tbag despite all their flaws… looks like all i have left is dexter and lost when it comes to quality drama/action now

  11. Ahh scylla- the ultimate game of hot potato. If only they had ended at the end of series two.

I haven’t got around to watching last week’s episode yet, will probably save them both for the weekend and watch in one go.

  12. I’ve really liked this season, asanother poster said, you’ve just got to allow yourself to go with some of the bizarre storylines. Season 3 was the poor season

  13. I loved the whole series, it was the first show i watched religiously for a long while. Seasons 1 and 2 were brilliant but i do agree 3 and 4 did struggle to keep up the standard. Realistically it could have been done in 2 seasons and it then wouldn’t have copped the criticism it did in its final 2 years. While the stories were getting a little ridiculous I’ll miss watching the characters in the show.

  14. Thanks for the heads-up David. I’m guessing there was one last Wednesday (one week after the finale) which I have missed… I noticed they were advertising the DVD during the finale so it’s probably easy to just pick that up.

Some of the things I will fondly remember from this series was the daring escapes, puzzles and Macgyver-esque thinking from Scofield. In all, a fun ride, even with a second prison and world domination device thingy.

  15. I totally loved season 4, Season 1 and 2 were hard to beat, but the bad guys like Wyatt, The General and Christine. Characters like Mahone, Sarah, Michael and Lincoln all really develop.

  16. Prison Break season 1 and 2 were brilliant, but the problem with American shows, is that they keep producing more and more seasons of a program that is good, and then it loses its ‘wow’ factor! Prison Break became more and more unrealistic and farfetched as the later seasons aired. They should have stopped after season 2 or 3, then the show would be remembered as a ‘classic’ I dont think that will happen now. All you have to do is look at the time that it is being aired tonight, 11:30pm. If it really were that great and if it had plenty of viewers, channel 7 would air it earlier. But the problem is, that no one watches it anymore, primarily because of how ridiculous it has become.

Well done to the show though, like I said, the first few seasons were brilliant, very well done. It’s just a pity they thrashed it to death, and let it become what is has.

  17. I think its 2nd season was the best…it got them out of the confines of the prison and pushed the characters into new and exciting directions.

I realize the show was called ‘Prison’ Break, but this title also reflected their own personal prisons the characters found themselves in and attempted to break free from.

Everyone seemed to have a great time doing it and I look forward to seeing what Wentworth Miller does next…and how his future shirtless scenes fare sans tattoos!!

  18. I’m with you there. The first three seasons were great IMO but the prologed Scylla saga watered down what was originally a great show (probably not helped by being stuffed around by channel 7 breaking up seasons and then airing at 11:30pm).

  19. Absolutley loved it! Was one of my favourite drama series ever. Loved all the series except maybe te third one, but didnt mind the Scylla storyline, provided alot of anxious and exciting moments and threw in some great characters. Sad it has ended but it was worth it!!

  20. Weird how these 2 eps first aired in Israel before the UK and for what ever reason Fox kept them from US viewers… Why?

IMO they are some of the best the show has ever done and had a real S1 feel to them.

The whole Scylla thing was just confusing, like they were trying to hard to top S1 & S2.

  21. Besides the convoluted storylines Season 4 was great fun if you just allowed yourself to go with it!

Best episode was still Riots, Drills and The Devil – the two parter at the start of the first season – but to pikc favourite moments off the top of my head is too hard – it was a fun ride but definately time to drew to a close.
