TEN’s AFL wil be driven by TEN not ONE. It’s where the revenue is and anti-siphoning dictates. ONE will only have offshoot ideas like panel shows, or simulcast.

bah, they had to turn on ONE when the Fina is on didn’t they.
all i see is swimming swimming and more swimming.
can’t wait till that’s all finished.

David what do reckon the possibilty is of ONE buying more rights to AFL games? Say if they had the rights to replay every game of the round, and have some of them live like Fox Sports do?

Why is it that none of the popular TV schedule guides (including the one here) have added ONE HD to their Tasmanian schedules?

Are TDT HD going to change the name of the service to one HD?

Griffith… I think they should get a third license, same as SA probably will, prior to digital switchoff. But I think a campaign should happen to make sure Griffith enjoys the same choice as a viewer in Wagga Wagga or Canberra

Mac, Nine owns NBN but has nothing to do with WIN. Adding a few new transmitters around Sydney and Melbourne is a bit different to the hundreds of new trasmitters, antennas, infrastruture that a network like WIN has to add. WIN has transmitters from Port Douglas to Port Arthur, fom Wollongong to Geraldton. It’s a big cost for Nine/NBN but a massive cost for WIN. TDT is not just Hobart & Launceston either, but all of the other relay transmitters all over Tas.

It’s almost 2010 so why is it so hard to get blanket TV coverage in regional areas?

  12. vid July 28, 2009 at 11:00 pm -

    @ mac.
not all areas covered by win tv will get go!
win Griffith nsw has 70,000 viewers but will not get GO!
there is no HD there for win or prime tv… and no channel 10!!
why??? who knows but its not good!!

  13. mac July 28, 2009 at 6:49 pm -

nine has proved that it is possible to launch in regional markets the same time as metro, the question is if nine/win/nbn can do it why cant ten/sc/tdt? also does anyone else find that saying TDT is a bit of a touge twister lol.

All you Tassie viewers have to do is rescan, your HD set top boxes/ intergrated HDTV’s, prior to One’s launch on the Apple Isle, and if Win’s got any brains, start listing 80 as GO! (while moving it to “temporary” SD) on the same day.

  15. jezza July 28, 2009 at 5:48 pm -

At least we dont have to fight for GO!
