Airdate: Lockerbie Disaster special

By David Knox on August 8, 2009 / Filed Under Programming 10

lockerbieUpdate: Seven’s air crash investigations special is now retitled as Lockerbie Diasaster.

It will look at one of the most famous air crashes in modern history.

Pan Am Flight 103 crashed on December 21, 1988, in the small town of Lockerbie, Scotland. The plane exploded mid-air, shooting massive fireballs of debris onto the residents below.

270 people from 21 different countries died. Seven days later, investigators found a piece of evidence smaller than a fingertip that would crack the case.

It will air 7:30pm Monday August 17th on Seven.

It could do quite well in this timeslot based on the success of the Hudson crash special.

Don’t know about Seven, but it has aired before on NatGeo. In fact it’s scheduled there again on 31 August.
