Drop Dead Paula

Paula Abdul is already back on television as a judge, with a guest appearance in Drop Dead Diva.

paulaabduldddIt hasn’t taken long for Paula Abdul to return as a judge on the small screen.

The former American Idol regular was back to work Thursday as a different kind of  judge , shooting a guest appearance for Drop Dead Diva.

She follows a number of celebs who have appeared on the show including Rosie O’Donnell. Others set to appear include Jorja Fox, Elliot Gould, Tim Gunn, Liza Minnelli, Kathy Najimy, Nia Vardalos, and Hilary Duff.

Abdul plays a judge in a dream sequence to give Jane (the lead lawyer played by Brooke Elliott) advice on a tough case.

Meanwhile American Idol plans on replacing Abdul with a new regular judge, following her exit this week. Victoria Beckham and Katy Perry are booked as guest judges with more to be announced soon. She is also being touted as a guest judge on So You Think You Can Dance.

“I don’t know anybody that’s had her experience of being a dancer, of being a choreographer and of being a judge,” Nigel Lythgoe said.

You can catch Drop Dead Diva Monday nights at 9:30pm on Nine.

  1. Thanks Jack for the heads up that DDD will not be on in Adelaide tomorrow night.

And thanks channel nine for making that decision for me also, I guess I will have to view it by other means now!

  2. this won’t last more than another week at most. last week it only attracted 300,000 in sydney and brissie. this week the only other market that it will be screening in will be melbourne, and i doubt that it will add anymore than another 100,000-200,000 to its figure. note that channel 9 perth and channel 9 adelaide have dumped the show for a repeat episode of the mentalist on monday at 9:30pm. smart of them not to get people hooked, they probably know it won’t last. and of course, don’t forget, this is channel 9 were talking about!

  3. I meant to say only before, I know regional sports plays a part but why must Nine split shows like this then wonder why it doesn’t rate. Unless it picks up I bet this will shift to GO! in a few weeks…
