Two men who attacked Gardening Australia presenter Robert “Tino” Carnevale last November were today sentenced to jail in the Supreme Court in Hobart.
Last November Carnevale (pictured) was walking through the North Hobart restaurant strip when two men approached and started punching and kicking him. He was beaten unconscious with his face smashed into the footpath, fracturing his skull in several places.
Justice David Porter sentenced Robert Stuart Carlton, 32, to three and a half years jail for starting the attack, with a non-parole period of 21 months.
David Henry Donohue, 30, was sentenced to three years’ jail, with a non-parole period of 18 months.
The men claimed they had been too drunk to remember the attack.

Why do magistrates keep dealing out manifestly inadequate sentences.
At least these two thugs have lost jobs, have a record and will meet some very loveable characters in prison. No sympathy.
seems that they got off fairly lightly…3 years for almost killing a man?!?!
