Josh Schwartz scripting sitcom

jsJosh Schwartz does comedy? Maybe…

The creator of The OC, Gossip Girl and Chuck is teaming with fellow Chuck producer Matt Miller (Las Vegas) to pen a multicamera script for CBS.

The currently untitled project centres on a twentysomething newlywed couple navigating their new life together, apparently inspired by both men’s marriages.

Interestingly it’s not even a single cam approach, but a traditional multicam. So far the premise sounds very familiar, but then there’s only seven stories in the world anyway, right?

Schwartz is also penning the next X-Men installment as well as writing and directing a feature based on the 1980 novel Bright Lights, Big City.

A real talent, no doubt about it. But you get the feeling he may be better off concentrating on maintaining the success of his series rather than setting them up and then diving into something new all the time.

A sitcom about newlyweds? Really? -.-

    I’m disappointed, Josh.
