Q & A: August 6

This week Julia Gillard and Malcolm Turnbull front an audience of Australians aged between 16 and 25 years old.

jgJulia Gillard sure has been busy lately. Not only has she filmed an episode of Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader? but this week she turns up on the ABC’s Q & A.

A far more interesting guest will be Opposition Leader Malcolm Turnbull-interesting if only for the fact that his role in ‘Utegate’ is back in the news again this week. Hardly the time you want to be fronting the public.

This week’s audience will be entirely made up of Australians aged between 16 and 25 years old.

Also joining host Tony Jones on the panel will be:

Sara Haghdoosti, a 22-year-old Iranian-Australian, feminist, Muslim, student activist. Currently studying Economics and Social Sciences at Sydney University, Sara works for the Australian Youth Climate Change Coalition. She was one of the top ten youth delegates for Kevin Rudd’s 2020 Summit.

Mitch Grady, a 20-year-old law student at Queensland University, debating champion, who is active in the Queensland Young Liberals and works for Fairfax Digital in Brisbane. Mitch was the Queensland representative for the United Nations Youth Conference 2005.

Linden Brownley, a 23-year-old Indigenous law student from Perth. Involved in youth leadership activities since his teens, Linden was invited to the Obama inauguration as a future leader and has ambitions of working at the UN and at some stage entering politics.

It airs Thursday 6 August at 9.30pm on ABC1.

  1. I really enjoy Q and A, it’s a great show. Sometimes I think they have too many panellists, I always want to hear more from the ones who don’t talk as much as the ones who shouldn’t. Turnbull vs Gillard will be very interesting, two very smart, good performers who aren’t “haters”.

  2. I’ve always hated every Q&A live studio audience, so I’m expecting the inattentive & immature 16 to 25 year-old crowd to laugh at stupid things, while asking stupid questions…
