US critics praise Battlestar

About frackin' time. US critics finally award Battlestar Galactica, dubbing it the "Program of the Year."

BattleStarIt didn’t get a thing in the top Emmy nominations but America’s Television Critics Association has named Battlestar Galactica as its Program of the Year.

The final season of the Syfy drama will no doubt please ardent fans who are constantly frustrated it is never suitably recognised by the industry.

HBO picked up more awards than any network with True Blood named best new program and Grey Gardens winning achievement in movies, miniseries and specials.

The Big Bang Theory
won 2 comedy awards while AMC scored with Mad Men and Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston.

  1. Who cares about the critics, theirs also tones of other great series that those eggheads fail to notice. As for Emmy’s who gives a toss? they have little to do with talent, lets all hold our breath and wait for Desperate Housewives or Greys Anatomy to win a Peabody!

  2. I don’t get it either, how can a show be “Program Of The Year” and not manage to get an Emmy nominations?

    But there are so many shows that the critics and fans love but just don’t get a look in when award shows roll around, this is why I don’t put much stock in the Emmys or most other awards shows any more.
