Bisley out of MasterChef

After being announced actor Steve Bisley is not out of Celeb MasterChef. But there are denials as to the reason...

sbABC’s Head of Publicity Lesna Thomas has denied a scheduling conflict for actor Steve Bisley’s appearance on an upcoming episode of The Lowdown would preclude his availability for TEN’s Celebrity MasterChef.

But despite being named on the weekend as a contender for the reality series, he is now off the guest-list.

“The truth is Steve is doing a one-episode guest role but production doesn’t start for at least another two months,” Thomas told news.com.au. “So I don’t know how a ‘scheduling conflict’ can occur.”

Yesterday it was revealed the actor is facing an assault charge following a domestic incident.

“This is the second time in two days that TEN has revealed one of our shows before we have,”said Thomas.

“They leaked the fact we had signed (MasterChef Australia runner-up) Poh Ling Yeow for her own cooking show.”

That leak to PerthNow, was quickly followed by the ABC issuing a Press Release on Poh’s Kitchen, very likely before it was ready to do so (it did the same after TV Tonight revealed the name of Denton’s new Hungry Beast series too).

With Bisley’s name now off the MasterChef list, that takes us back to three unannounced names.

The series starts on air September 30th.
