Airdate: Sarah Murdoch presents Pride of Australia

Sarah Murdoch will present her first Foxtel series produced by her production company Room 329, showcasing local heroes.

SMURDOCHSarah Murdoch will present her first Foxtel series produced by her production company Room 329, Sarah Murdoch Presents Pride of Australia.

The production deal with the Pay TV network follows her signing on as host of Australia’s Next Top Model.

The series will introduce showcase nominees for the Pride of Australia Medal Awards. Sponsored by News Limited (note that Murdoch link) the awards will be held in Sydney on Monday, November 30, 2009.

The four-part series will reveal the stories of these everyday people who have been nominated in Outstanding Bravery, Emergency Services, Community Spirit, Child of Courage, Young Leader, Care and Compassion, Inspiration, Environment, Fair Go and Serving Australia.

Murdoch has been involved with the medal for the past two years.

“We have travelled the country in search of our unsung heroes and I am proud to present them through this series,” she said.

“These are everyday Aussies who have shown outstanding bravery, commitment to their communities and to each other and stepped up beyond the call of duty. It has been an incredible journey personally this past year as I have met and come to know these remarkable Australians.”

It premieres on Arena on Tuesday, November 3, at 7.30pm.
